Tom The Buckingham Hotel was where we stayed after we arrived in Chicago via the California Zephyr. One of the main reasons we chose The Buckingham Hotel was because of its proximity from the Chicago Union Station – a mere 10 minutes walk away.
The Buckingham Hotel Chicago Deluxe Room
The rooms of The Buckingham Hotel Chicago are located on the 40th floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange building. The concierge is located at the first level of the building. After checking-in, you’ll be given an access card. Only with the access card, can you then use the lifts to reach the rooms of The Buckingham Hotel Chicago.
The Deluxe Room was spacious and included a seating area, work desk and bathroom with bath tub. It was a nice touch to have MJ (Michael Jordan) on the curtain shower to remind guests that you’re now in the Windy City, home of the Chicago Bulls!

Located on the same level is a lounge. That’s where breakfasts are served daily. You’ll also be able enjoy unparalleled views of the city here…
In the mornings, we would also be able to get amazing views of sunrise over Lake Michigan – one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world.
Facilities at The Buckingham Hotel Chicago
The Buckingham Hotel is actually operated by The Buckingham Club. It is an exclusive club located in the heart of the city. This makes membership at the Buckingham Club pretty desirable. As a guest at The Buckingham Hotel, you’ll be able to enjoy all the facilities here. Including a swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room, full shower/changing room facilities and even sports facilities such as a basketball/squash court and a golf simulator!

If you look closely at the swimming pool picture above, you’ll notice another pool at the other end. That is the jacuzzi pool. Kate and I would alternate between the jacuzzi and swimming pool and it was quite a relaxing experience altogether.

The other thing we love about The Buckingham Chicago Hotel is its location. From there, we were able to visit the Millenium Park, Cloud Gate as well as the Buckingham Fountain. Given its price, location and facilities, it is indeed a steal to stay at The Buckingham Hotel Chicago!
