If you do a Google of “Roof Top Bars in Hanoi”, there are actually many options out there. Having visited Moonlight Sky Bar for the trendy vibe along with with live band performances, we decided to try out 14′ Roof Top Bar, the roof top bar of Flower Garden Hotel in Hanoi, for a different experience altogether…

About 14′ Roof Top Bar Flower Garden Hotel Hanoi
14′ Roof Top Bar is the in-house roof top bar of Hanoi’s Flower Garden Hotel. As you can see from the photos above, 14′ Roof Top Bar is not your usual roof top bar serving bar grubs and beers. Instead, it is modelled after Manhattan-styled designs with warm leather finishes of the furnishings and furniture within. The other main selling point of 14′ Roof Top Bar at Flower Garden Hotel Hanoi, is its extensive views over Truc Bach Lake…
There are both indoor and outdoor seats at 14′ Roof Top Bar. As the weather was a nice 15 degrees, we sat at the outdoor balcony for a bit. There are only about 5 tables for 5 couples at the balcony area and not all guests will be able to see the views though. We sat at the table nearest to the side facing the lake. Hence, we were able to take some views of the surroundings and the lake. Otherwise, it is recommended to sit on the leather sofa seat on the inside. Also, you’ll be shielded from the chilly winds in the evening. We also felt that the views from the indoor seats were slightly better as well.

What We had at 14′ Roof Top Bar Flower Garden Hotel Hanoi
Prior to visiting, we saw that 14′ Roof Top Bar offered an afternoon tea set. Having tried out the afternoon teas in Penang, we were keen to try out the offerings in Hanoi as well. Unfortunately, we were told that afternoon tea sets were not available during our visit. Hence, we turned to the menu for some drinks instead…
After browsing through the drinks menu of 14′ Roof Top Bar at Flower Garden Hotel Hanoi, we (almost) immediately zoomed in on the signature cocktails section. They had cocktails with unique names such as
– Blood Moon
– Fade Rose
– Supernova
– Raspberry Gin Rickey
– Wild Flower
– Dawn of the New Century
There were also other classic cocktails like mojito, mai tai and pina colada. However, we went with Blood Moon and Supernova cocktails that went for 150K (or $9SGD) each. They were both really delicious and refreshing. Blook Moon had a nice fruity, berry-ish taste while Supernova was slightly stronger and aromatic. For $9SGD along with the views? Definitely worth it!

In the evenings, the lights of Hanoi city started to lit up. As we visited on a week day, there were literally no other guests and we were able to enjoy the nice views over Truc Bach Lake, seated in the comfort of the leather sofa as the set. A great venue for couples to chill or even to close a business deal in the privacy of 14′ Roof Top Bar Hanoi!
