Where to have Buffet Breakfast in Havana Cuba
5 Esquinas Trattoria is located on Espada and Haban Streets. The breakfast spread includes
fruits, ham, pork, freshly baked breads, eggs (boiled/omelette), cheese, quiche, juices and coffee. For the omelette and coffee, you’ll have to order separately but the service is prompt. Yup, all of the above are included in the buffet price of 4.5 CUC.
After the hearty breakfast, we headed over to the Museo de la Revolucion (Museum of the Revolution Havana) to learn more about what happened in Cuba during the revolution

The price of tickets to Museum of the Revolution is 8 CUC for foreigners or 8 CUP for locals. Some people have mentioned that the museum is another avenue for propaganda, to reinforce why the revolution was good in the first place. Do take some of the information with a pinch of salt. The tour starts on the 3rd level. You’ll follow the signs and finally come back to the first level. One of the first things you’ll notice as you proceed up the flight of stairs, are the bullet marks still left on the walls when the revolution took place…
There were actually many exhibits and explanations of the entire operation of the revolution. Unfortunately, 80% of the display were in Spanish. Perhaps it’s more of a propaganda tool targeted at the locals? During our visit, it was also unfortunate that the Mirror Hall was under renovation

Fulgencio Batista was the president during the 1950s who cared little about how the people were doing. Fidel Castro, then a lawyer, wrote a petition to overthrow Batista. However, the petition was rejected and he realized that the only way to overthrow Batista was to start an armed revolution against Batista. During the initial revolution, Castro’s men were defeated and Raul (his brother & current President of Cuba) and him were captured. During the trial was when he said the now famous “History will absolve me” speech. Though imprisoned for 15 years, both Raul and Fidel were released because Batista was under pressure to release political prisoners. Castro was later joined by the famous Che Guevara (Argentinian Revolutionary) in the revolution. The armed conflict took place from 1953 to 1959.
During the tour, you’ll see the difficulties that the revolution forces overcame as well as the developments that the government has made throughout the years. After the tour within the building, the arrows will direct you to the outdoor exhibits.
Here, you’ll be able to have some photo opportunities with vehicles and planes. Also on the display, is the yacht that Castro arrived in from Mexico to start the revolution. You will also notice that the building that houses the yacht is probably the most modern looking building in the whole of Havana. Glass facade with sleek modern architecture.
At the end of the tour, there is a monument that honours those who sacrificed for the revolution
All in all, we didn’t think the museum was worth it, given that there were so many exhibits in Spanish. However, given that there aren’t many other attractions at this time, this could be a “time filler” and photo opportunity with the outdoor exhibits.
Open Top Bus Tour Havana Cuba
For those who have not visited Cuba, you’ll be surprised how much Cuba has opened up and how many tourists there are in the streets. A open-top bus tour?! Thought you’ll only get these sort of things in London, New York or Singapore…
The Habana bus tour takes about 1.5 hours to complete and costs 10 CUC per person. Although we were told that you could also board at the Terminal, the best place to board would still be at Central Park (in front of Hotel Inglaterra). We took the bus twice on the same day (it was worth going a 2nd time!). However, on the second time, we decided to try the boarding area at the Terminal. We waited for more than 30 minutes and the bus eventually went round to Central Park and terminated there. Although we did not have to get off the bus, the bus tour actually does start at Central Park. To find out some of the scenes that we took on this bus tour in Havana Cuba, check out the video below…

To conclude an eventful day, we had pre-dinner drinks of sangria and mojito at Hotel Inglaterra…
There were great views over Central Park Havana
The only thing was that there was live music at Hotel Ambos Mundos but not at Hotel Inglaterra. Nice views from both hotels and cocktails were relatively cheap at 3CUC.
For dinner, we had a simple burger for 1 CUC…
