On day 11 of our travels in Greece, we decided to take it easy and chill out on the island of Paros. We started our morning at a nearby cafe called Tseri Cafe. This time, we chose the rocket omelette (3.5 euros), Strawberry Monte (2.7 euros) and a cafe latte (2 euros)…
Chilling out in Paros Island Greece
We totally enjoyed the Strawberry Monte where there was strawberry and chocolate mousse on the inside and strawberry milk on the outside. Next, we headed to Livadia Beach at 9:15am to chill and enjoy sea breeze, cool waters of the morning…
Again, at the middle of the beach, there was a sandy entry with shallow waters and fine sand up to the waist level. However, the waters can get a little choppy especially when ferries entered or left the port area. We found a spot under a tree that provided shade for us. A much sought-after spot; after we left, another family rushed in to grab the spot. As we left, a middle-aged couple entered the water. The aunty made sure that she was in the water before she removed her bikini top. Uncle then brought it back to the beach. That was why Kate wished Tom “Happy Anniversary” – referencing to the Venice Aunty, doing the same thing during our honeymoon -_-”
Hotel Oasis Review Paros Island Greece
One of the highlights for the day was our room at Hotel Oasis in Paros. This time, we were allocated room 24, the best room in the whole of Hotel Oasis…
The reason why room 24 is the best room at Hotel Oasis is because of the view of the port that it offers. In addition, there’s a huge outdoor balcony where you can chill, relax and do people watching as visitors enter and leave the port…
We thoroughly enjoyed the room because of the views of the port that it offers. You could just sit there and people watch the whole day round. In addition, the balcony of room 24 at Hotel Oasis is HUGE! For lunch, we had a seafood pasta (14 euros) from Albatros restaurant. It was delicious and chock full of ingredients such as mussels, prawns, clams, squid and octopus. We also had souvlaki (pork stick) and pork gyros for 4 euros [we learnt that pork pita is just pork stick on a pita as compared to pork gyros which has the turning meat on a pita]. 2 beers and a coke completed the meal 😛
Attractions in Paros Island Greece
After watching the ferries come in and out of port in the afternoon, we watched US demolish the Netherlands in the woman’s world cup finals (2-0). We then left to change the tickets for our ferry the next day. This was when the lady at Blue Star Ferries was a little shock that we bought our tickets almost a year ago (yeah, we’re a little kiasu). We then headed to Frankish Castle and Athena Temple for sunset…
Sunset at the church at the top of Frankish Castle is a great spot to catch sunsets in Paros. During sunsets, the steps outside the church would be lined with tourists and locals alike. We were just in time to catch the sunset. Though we didn’t get to sit on the steps, the view was still spectacular…
Dinner at Ephesus Restaurant Paros Greece
For dinner, we headed to Ephesus Restaurant. Not only was it located along the shore, it also featured a duo playing authentic Greek tunes for dinner. This time, we ordered the eggplant (9 euros), port steak (9.5 euros) and a 500ml Rose (7 euros)…
The eggplant was tender and flavourful while we enjoyed the pork with its fatty bits. The rose was indeed 500ml! For 7 euros, that’s a pretty good price. The total was only 28 euros and the waiter had no judgement whatsoever on what we ordered eventhough we only technically ordered 1 mains. The music was the highlight of the evening…
This was also the time where we saw visitors clapping along to the famous Greek song – Zorba the Greek. Yah…the song that starts slow and gets faster and faster.

After checking out Ephesus, we would strongly recommend a dinner here if you’re in Paros. Remember to visit when the live music duo is on (as we recall that they only play on certain days)!
Stay tuned as we spend our last couple of days back in the capital of Greece – Athens!
