On our last day in Dubai, it was spent mainly on flying. Due to the the time difference, we left Dubai International Airport at 10am (local time) and arrived in Singapore at 9:30pm (local time). The time difference between Singapore and Dubai is 4 hrs and the flight time is 7.5 hours. Hence, we decided to spend the morning, checking out the Priority Pass Lounges at Dubai International Airport!

Our first impression of the lounge was that the decor was really cool. Then, we found out that it was once the “Cardiz Tapaz Bar”. This explained the wine barrels and cozy bar area within. Next, we checked out the food spread…
Food Selection at Ahlan Lounge Dubai International Airport Priority Pass Lounge
We found the selection to be really good. Ranging from typical Western selection of breads, eggs, bacon and sausages to oriental choices of fried rice and congee. For beverages, the alcoholic selection and coffee selection was fairly good as well…
From Ahlan Lounge’s Drinks Menu, we could see that the drinks selection included:
– Apperitifs
– Can Beers (Heineken, Budweiser, Foster)
– Liquor (Cognac, Gin, Liquers, Rum, Tequila, Vodka, Whiskey)
– Wines (Sparkling, White, Red, Rose, Port)
– Soft drinks and water
– Chilled Juices
– Tea Coffee Hot Chocolate
We chose rose, white wine and beer to go with our breakfast this morning…
As for the food itself, the taste was excellent. We enjoyed the fried rice, hashbrowns (super crispy) and the tender juicy meatballs. We’re also surprised that the drinks had rose, port and even aperitifs in its selection of alcoholic drinks. Shiok!
Dubai International Airport Departure Airside
After the sumptuous meal, we headed out to do a walk-about within Dubai International Airport’s departure halls…
Similar to Singapore Changi Airport, Dubai International Airport has many shopping and dining options. The sky roofs and glass windows allows natural light to illuminate the premise during the day. After the walk, we checked out the Marhaba Lounge just opposite Ahlan Lounge…

Compared to the Marhaba Lounge in Singapore Changi Airport, we were quite disappointed with the MArhaba Lounge in Dubai International Airport. It could be due to renovations, but there was no decor to speak of as we entered the lounge. There were also a shortage of seats when we visited, which marred the experience a little. However, the main thing was that the food selection was poor and did not fare well in the taste department. Coupled with the poor drinks selection, the choice is obvious.
Check out Ahlan Lounge when you visit a Priority Pass Lounge in Dubai International Airport.
Soon, it was time board our Emirates flight from Singapore to Dubai…
As with our Emirates flight from Singapore to Dubai, the return flight from Dubai to Singapore was relatively empty and we were able to have the row of seats to ourselves. Food wise, it was not as good as SQ but still acceptable.
