Taupo Mini Golf Review: Free Round with a Hole In One!

Taupo Mini Golf was one of the attractions that we wanted to visit while walking along the Lake Taupo boardwalk. This time, we left our Millennium Hotel and Resort Manuels Taupo at 9am and reached Taupo Mini Golf at 945am.

Taupo Mini Golf Overview and Prices

There are 18 holes to play at Taupo Mini Golf and the prices are as follows:

Adults – $13
Seniors – $11 (above 65 years old)
Children – $9
Under 5 years old – $3
Family – $40 (2 adults and 2 children)
Extra child – $7

The cool thing about playing at Taupo Mini Golf is that if you scored a hole-in-one in the last hole, you’d be able to play another complimentary game. During our visit, it was drizzling slightly but after waiting for a bit, we were able to start playing…

About Taupo Mini Golf Review

We found that the course at Taupo Mini Golf was not as challenging as Holey Moley but it was still fun nonetheless. The other cool thing about playing at Taupo Mini Golf is that you’d have Lake Taupo as your backdrop right across the road.

Tom won Kate (slightly) at Taupo Mini Golf

Believe it or not, Kate scored a hole-in-one at the last hole! Which means that she won a complimentary game. When players reach the last hole, the staff will peek out of her window to check whether the player scores a hole-in-one. Players will be informed during check-out that they have scored a hole-in-one and be given a ticket. As Tom didn’t score a hole-in-one at the last hole, he was still able to play another game with Kate by paying $9 – which was not too bad.

As it was a relatively wet day, the dampened ground was a little more advantageous for courses with slopes because the ball won’t roll backwards (down a slope away from the hole) as much. Overall, it was a fun outing at Taupo Mini Golf!
