2024 KLOVE Cruise USA Travel Itinerary Day 1: Flight from Singapore to Miami via Doha

KLOVE Cruise 2024 was the reason we flew the 24 hours flight from Singapore to Miami to embark on the cruise. We had actually booked the cruise 1 year out and by faith, we were able to finally experience church worship of the true and living God at sea. During this trip, we also planned to visit the Billy Graham Library, to learn about the crusade in the 1970s and to visit Seacoast Church, home of Christian singer – Brandon Lake, whose worship songs such as Praise You Anywhere and Gratitude are familiar tunes to listeners of Klove.

On day 1 of our trip to USA, we started with an early check-in at Changi Airport. This time, we arrived at 6pm for our 2am flight. Even though Qatar allowed early check-in of up to 12 hours, we were unable to do our self check-in at the machine. We waited at the counter for a bit but were eventually able to check-in. With our boarding pass, we were able to enjoy some Priority Pass offerings at Changi Airport…

We started our trip on the landside of Changi Airport by stopping first at Terrace Chinese Kitchen. Terrace Chinese Kitchen is fast becoming one of our favourite Priority Pass restaurants at Changi Airport. Their lunch/dinner Priority Pass offerings are pretty good but not the breakfast ones though. This time, we ordered the following from Terrace Chinese Kitchen at T1:

1. Beef Hor Fun
2. Yang Zhou Fried Rice
3. Sides of Curry Fish Ball and Pork Ribs
4. Drinks of Yuan Yang Ice and Yuzu Ice

TranSpa Hair Services Beauty and Massage with Priority Pass at Changi Airport Terminal 2 Airside

After heading into the transit area (airside of Changi Airport), we headed to TranSpa for haircut – also part of Priority Pass access. Both bears had a haircut this time.

We waited for about 10 minutes for our turn and during the wait, the children of a previous customer remarked, “Mum, you look like a totally different person!”. This speaks volume of the skill of the hairdressers at TranSpa.

According to the menu, Kate’s haircut was for $50 while Tom’s haircut was for $40. Not too bad of a value for Priority Pass holders.

While in the transit area, we couldn’t miss the chance to visit our favourite Priority Pass restaurant – TGM. It has now rebranded to offer both Japanese and Korean cuisines. This time, we ordered the Yakiniku and Pork Cutlet to go. This was to allow us to have the excellent food offerings at TGM to be accompanied by the great selection of wines at Marhaba – in particular the Chocolate Block Red Wine (an exquisite red blend).

SATS Premier Lounge Changi T1 Review Excellent Laksa

For our last Priority Pass stop before boarding, we had our favourite laksa at SATS Premier Lounge T1. Instead of the usual thick bee hoon, we tried it with maggi mee this time…which…was definitely not as good. We also had a nice massage on the OSIM massage chair before taking a nice hot shower. All prepared for our flight from Singapore to Doha *yawn* 😴

Boarding time was at 1am. We had a smooth entry to the boarding area after security checks at the gate. A snack was served shortly after the flight but we knocked out shortly after take-off. Mid-flight, we had a glass of water and watched some documentary about plastics, as well as Simpsons. As for the meals, the Nasi Lemak was actually quite good with fragrant rice. Omelette, on the other hand, was a little salty but had the savory bell pepper tastes.

Thanks to the complimentary Priority Pass access with Citi Prestige Card, we were able to visit the various lounges and restaurants at Changi Airport. The Qatar Airways flight from Singapore to Doha was very smooth and thankfully, uneventful as well.
