If you do not already know, Disney Cruise Line offers the largest standard state rooms in the cruise industry. Having sailed aboard Star Cruise, Royal Caribbean Cruise and Norwegian Cruise Line, we were able to tell that the rooms of DCL are indeed bigger than usual…
The bed of the Disney Wonder has got to be our favourite part of the room. Not only is it large and spacious, it is an actual full-sized bed with side tables attached. The beds are also oh oh oh so comfortable! If you have slept on one of Westin Hotel’s sleep programme beds, you would completely understand what we mean. But for Disney Cruise to have such comfortable beds, it is both a joy and a boon. Why? Of course, you’ll get to have a restful sleep each night. Always something to look forward to on a well-deserved holiday. However, you’ll also probably run the risk of wanting to sleep in and miss all the wonderful programmes that Disney has in store for you!
The other “signature” aboard the state rooms of Disney Cruise Line is that all rooms come with a bath tub! ALL ROOMS! A neat little touch for the kids to waddle in.
To add to the classy factor, all amenities are from H2O, a special collaboration with Disney Cruise Lines. Not only do they smell luxurious, Pluto, Goofy and Mickey are printed on the body lotion, shampoo and body bath!

On deck 4, you’ll find one of the complimentary restaurant, Animator’s Palate. This restaurant is unique in that while you dine, the posters on the wall, which starts with black and white, will slowly be filled with colours. Studio Sea is a mixed venue where games take place and sometimes cooking classes as well. A venue for the entire family. At Shutters, you’ll be able to browse through all the photos taken by the professional photographers aboard and make purchases there. On the same deck, you’ll also find Walt Disney Theater, where all the shows are held daily. Just before reaching the theater, you’ll find Mickey’s Mates and Treasure Ketch, souvenir stores for Disney merchandise. If you’re into Disney pins, you’ll be able to find exclusive ship or destination pins as well as pins that staff will be willing to trade for as well.
Deck 5 Disney Wonder Disney Cruise Line Alaska
Deck 5 is a deck that parents would want to familiarise themselves with. Disney’s Oceaneer Lab, Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Flounder’s Reef Nursery are where the kids and toddlers hang out. Also, you’ll find Buena Vista Theater on deck 5. This is where the latest Disney movies are shown. Movies on Disney Cruise Line have the perk of having the same day premier as movies on land! That is, if there’s an upcoming movie premiering on the week of your cruise, chances are, you’ll be able to catch them aboard as well! During our cruise, we caught Finding Dory (which had not open in our area) as well as Alice Through The Looking Glass, both of which were really new shows!

Deck 9 has got to be one of the most “happening” decks aboard the ship. You’ll be able to find all the pools here. All 3 of them, Mickey’s Pool for the kids (complete with a slide), Goofy’s Pool for the family and Quiet Cove for the adults. Also at Quiet Cove, you’ll find the Cove Cafe for those with a taste for gourmet coffee (extra cost necessary). As for eating options, Blanket Beach Buffet is the complimentary buffet dining area. During shore days, we were able to find amazing eats such as pork ribs, beef ribs, crab cakes, crab legs and crawfish!
If you feel like snacking, Goofy’s galley has choice of fruits and sandwiches while Pinocchio’s Pizzeria offers daily variety of pizzas. What we love about Pinocchio’s is its freshly baked pretzels that oozes with cream cheese in the middle!
For the fitness buffs, the gym is located inside the Vista Spa & Salon. Inside, you’ll also be able to enjoy a full spa menu and even do up your hair for those formal nights. For the teens, Quarter Masters is an arcade venue to keep the young ones and family entertained!

At Deck 10, you’ll be able to find the best restaurant aboard – Palo. Although it costs an additional $30 per person, you’ll be able to enjoy amazing cuisine…whiiiiiiiich we will elaborate in our next post! ;P Teens have their own hangout at Vibe Teen Club. As for the active (both young and old), the Wide World of Sports Deck allows sporting games like basketball, soccer, foosball and table tennis. Another great place to chill would be Outlook Cafe (extra cost). Remember to head for those exclusive corner seats!
