Airport Lounge access with ANZ Travel Card!

ANZ Travel Card Airport Lounge

Update: ANZ Travel Card to drop complimentary lounge access on 1st April 2017.

Update: DBS acquires ANZ Retail & Wealth Units: What does it mean for ANZ Travel Visa Signature Card Holders?

If you have the ANZ Travel Card, you’d realise that there are several benefits of having the card, including

Earning up to 2.8 miles with every $1 spent (with designated merchants) or 1.4 miles with all other spendings.
Complimentary airport limousine departure transfers with minimum spending of $1,500
Travel accident and inconvenience insurance coverage when you purchase your air tickets using the ANZ Travel Card

Our favourite perk of having the ANZ Travel Card? Airport lounge access of course!

Airport Lounge access with ANZ Travel Card

You may have read our coverage of Dnata SkyView Lounge and SATS Premier Lounge. These were lounges that provided complimentary access with the ANZ Veloce partnership. To find out which are the lounges currently available with the ANZ Travel Card, all you have to do is visit the Veloce Website and key in the first 6 digits of your credit card number. It will then show you the available lounges associated with your credit card (in this case, the ANZ Travel Card).

Correct as of February 2015

During our latest visit, we were surprised to know that the complimentary lounges at Changi Airport has changed…again…(maybe the next time we won’t be so surprised anymore :P)

Unfortunately, with this round of revision, both lounges do not offer complimentary alcoholic beverages. Nonetheless, you’d be happy to note other services available at these lounges…

Changi Airport Terminal 1 : Airport Wellness Oasis

If you’re departing from T1, instead of the Dnata Skyview Lounge, ANZ Travel Card holders can visit the Airport Wellness Oasis just below it.

What we love about the new lounge is that it offers a 20 minutes complimentary fish spa! You can do this “treatment” once at departure and another when you arrive back in SG again 😉 Food wise, it is nothing to shout about. Beverages such as soft drinks, juice and coffee/tea are available and showering facilities are complimentary as well.

Changi Airport Terminal 3 : Ambassador Transit Lounge

At Terminal 3, you can visit the Ambassador Transit Lounge. Again, alcoholic beverages are not complimentary. However, views over the Butterfly Garden offers a relaxing vibe to this lounge.

Food offered at the Ambassador Transit Lounge is certainly better than the Airport Wellness Oasis. With convenience offered by the Sky Train, it is really easy to travel internally between terminals (and thus lounges!).

[UPDATE]

Saw this update at ANZ Travel Visa’s website

From 1 September 2016, receive two complimentary access to over 800 DragonPass lounges around the world when you charge a minimum of $10,000 to your ANZ Travel Card in each calendar quarter. A unique DragonPass membership number will be issued to you when you qualify.

That’s a spend of $10,000 in 3 months! Guess we’ll probably not be renewing with ANZ Travel Card anymore. If you have any thoughts on this, tell us more in the comments section below!

This time, we departed via Turkish Airlines!

What we liked about KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at Terminal 3

There are a few things that we enjoyed about the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

1. Tapping your own beer. At the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, you’re able to tap your own Tiger beer using frosted mugs that have been chilled in the fridge. You can even control the amount of head that you want for your beer!

2. Classy ambience. Compared to the SATS and Dnata lounges that we have visited previously, KrisFlyer Gold Lounge certainly exudes class and elegance in its decor.

Have you been to the SilverKris Lounge at Terminal 2 and 3? Although the name sounds less classy as comapred to KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, it is actually only available to Suites, First Class, Business Class and PPS members flying with Singapore Airlines.

Dnata SkyView Lounge at Terminal 1 Changi Airport Singapore!

Dnata Skyview Lounge Terminal 1 Changi Airport

Dnata SkyView Lounge at Terminal 1 Changi Airport is now available to ANZ travel card holders through its partnership with Veloce (VIP Airport Lounges)! Within this partnership, there are more than 100 airport lounges around the world that are made available and during our trip to Bandung, we took the opportunity to visit the Dnata Skyview Lounge at T1! Do note that each terminal has a lounge for ANZ travel card holders, so no worries if you’re not departing/arriving at T1.

Inside Dnata SkyView Lounge T1

After our visit to the SATS Premier Lounge at T2, we had a certain expectation of airport lounges and the Dnata SkyView Lounge met the standards…

The great thing about the lounge is that its spacious and allows natural sunlight which lights up the lounge area. Of course, you can also see planes taking off and taxiing from the lounge as well. But now to the most important part of this post…FOOOOOD!!!

What to eat at Dnata SkyView Lounge T1

Well, the truth is, in terms of quality, SATS Premier Lounge is a notch above the Dnata SkyView Lounge. Nonetheless, they do have the usual choices of western, asia, cereals, instant noodles, coffee/tea and alcoholic drinks…

In terms of selection and variety, Dnata SkyView Lounge certainly pales in comparison to SATS Premier Lounge (which has massage chairs and better food selection). Nonetheless, the “sky view” offered the Dnata Lounge does offer a different dimension for travellers to relax and hang out as well.

SATS Premier Lounge : Free Entry with your ANZ Travel Card!

SATS Premier Lounge is one of the lounges where you can enter free simply by signing up with the ANZ Travel Card!

There are essentially 2 ways of gaining entry into SATS Premier Lounge for free via the ANZ Travel Card. Firstly, when you apply for the card, you will be given 2 vouchers for complimentary entry into the lounge. The second way? Spend on the card! By accumulating a spending of $1500 (you’ll easily achieve this when you purchase your long distance air tickets), you’ll also get complimentary entry to SATS Lounge.

What’s Inside SATS Premier Lounge?

For the sophisticated travellers, lounges are part of air travel. You can grab a drink, have some snacks, catch some shut eye or even have a quick bath before your next flight. At SATS Premier Lounge, you can do all that and even enjoy a massage on one of the massage chairs available in the lounge…

There are also showering facilities in the bathroom if you would like to enjoy a hot shower before your flight. But what do we enjoy the most? The food and drinks of course!

We actually had ALOT of food at SATS Premier Lounge. We had the chicken rice (which is something you should have – thigh meats with chili!), lemon chicken, ramen, pasta, cup noodles, naan with chickpeas, banana, cakes, beers, wines and coffee! Phew…that was quite a list!

But the other thing that we enjoyed? Reading CRISP NEW MAGAZINES!

Wide selection of magazines and complimentary use of internet

Wide selection of magazines and complimentary use of internet

TIME, Fortune, Travel Magazines and international newspapers are available for your reading pleasure. As travel bloggers, we enjoyed every single bit of the travel magazines which were literally BRAND NEW! The feel is really different when you read it brand new as opposed to crumpled ones where 1 million and 1 people have read it before you right?

Well, one of the things we liked about SATS Premier Lounge is that eventhough entry was free, it was still relatively exclusive (as you can see from the picture above). During our stay here (about 2 hours – yes, very KS we know), there wasn’t any time that we felt it was overcrowded or too noisy. Everyone just came in for a rest, a bite and off they went. Adhering to the “do not disturb OTHERS” policy.

After our maiden visit to SATS Premier Lounge, it seems like lounges will pretty much feature in our upcoming travels. Whether you’re a sophisticated traveller or simply a gian peng Singaporean like us, SATS Premier Lounge would be a rest stop you’d want to check out before your next flight.
