According to the Priority Pass website, Al Maha Lounge is the only available lounge at Doha International Airport. However, on the ground, we found that there are actually 2 Al Maha Lounges at Doha Hamad International Airport – one located at the South node (next to the Teddy Bear) and the other at the North node (via walking or tram via gate C1).
During our return flight back from Miami to Singapore, we also stopped by Doha and this time, we were actually shown to Oryx Lounge, located next to Al Maha Lounge in the north node. This means that while the Priority Pass website cites one lounge available at Doha Airport, there are actually 3, of the same brand, available on the ground.

Inside Al Maha Lounge Doha International Airport
Inside Al Maha Lounge, we found the area to be spacious. There are lounge seats as well as a couple of private comfy sofas within. It also has its own toilet within the lounge, upkept rather meticulously by the attendant. So the condition of the toilet is pretty good – just that there are limited cubicles, with a little wait during peak hours.
As it was breakfast time when we first arrived at Doha International Airport from Singapore (about 5am), there was congee, omelet, potato wedges, hams, cheese and breads available. There was also a local bean-based soup called Ful Medames – a stew of beans, olive oil and cumin which was very delicious. There’s also coffee and alcoholic selections such as Syrah, Riesling and Budweiser.
Overall, Al Maha lounge is a good lounge. The next section will talk about Oryx Lounge North on our way back from USA to Singapore.
Inside Oryx Lounge North Doha International Airport
Oryx Lounge North has the exact same setup as Al Maha Lounge North next door, except that there’s a bar setup. However, the bartender serves similar drinks to what you can pour/concoct yourself. He also does coffee, customised, if you wish.
The dinner menu this time was so-so with only one chicken biryani with meat. The vegetarian Singaporean noodles (yes, it was named this in Doha) and tomato-based spaghetti did not have meat and were not up to the mark. The chicken wrap did have some meat with hummus which was not bad. This time, we also had 2 glasses of Riesling and a cup of iced latte from the bar.

Overall, both Al Maha and Oryx Lounge at Doha International Airport are rather decent lounges. You have ample space with a classy decor within. We also found on the ground that Al Maha is available in the North as well as the South node. Hence, if it does get crowded in the South node, head on over to the North node and you’ll get pretty good Priority Pass lounge services there as well. The other thing we noticed was the choice of local food. You’ll find dates, local soups and pastries. Of these, we found the Ful Medames to be very delicious.
