About Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery
As we know, Bee Cheng Hiang is known for its bakkwa (aka BBQ pork slices). However, the experience at Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery is slightly different. Not only will you be able to purchase your usual favourites of BBQ pork slices and pork floss, you’ll also be able to experience hands-on BBQ and floss making here. Lastly, at this flagship Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery (located at 1359 Serangoon Road, Singapore 328241), you’ll be able to dine at its bistro and taste some amazing east-meets-west fusion dishes here…
At Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery, you’ll also be able to check out its walk-in wine cellar with wines from Bordeaux. Each wine comes with pairing suggestions with dishes at Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery as well as the various bakkwa available. We think that this is a very good idea. If wines can go with cheese and jamon (reminded us of our jamon and champagne experience at Gran Melia Palacio), why not bakkwa?

What to eat at Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery
After we sat down, we were promptly served by our waiter. As we were on the Eatigo deal, we were also informed on what dishes could be applied with the Eatigo discount. Thereafter, it was time to browse through the Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery Menu in detail!
We took some time to browse through the menu at Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery and were surprised by the many new dishes that were created to go with the traditional grilled bakkwa. Dishes that caught our eye included bakkwa DIY sliders, bakkwa spring rolls, Nasi Lemak pizza and Bakkwa Vanilla Gelato! This time, we ordered 2 appetizers and 2 mains, with the 2 appetizers served first before the mains. We ordered Mozzarella Katsu ($10), Sambal Egg Mayo Slider ($8), Capsicum and Gourmet Bakkwa Pizza ($15) as well as the Gourmet Aglio Olio ($16). After placing our orders, we were served with cups of lemon-infused ice water. While waiting for our food to be served, we took a walk around the grillery to check out the products.
Before long, our dishes were served with our stated preference – appetizers first…
The Mozzarella Katsu is a popular dish at Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery. The Gourmet Fusion Bakkwa (fusion of pork belly and hind leg) is wrapped in mozzarella cheese before being deep fried and served with in-house mayo and chives. We were pleasantly surprised on our first bite with juices bursting through! Be careful! The cheesiness of the mozzarella also emphasised the taste of the gourmet bakkwa – a perfect salty-sweet combination, deep fried style.
The Sambal Egg Mayo Slider is a mini burger with the in-house egg mayo and sambal, sprinkled with kripee frostee (pork floss). Although it was a tad spicy, we loved the sambal with hints of hei bi hiam (spicy dried shrimps). Yup, we chugged a glass or two of water while battling the spicy goodness of this slider.
After we were done with the appetizers, our plates were actually changed before our mains were served! Talk about service! Next, came our favourite dish at Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery – Gourmet Aglio Olio. As with all aglio olio, the pasta was tossed in chili padi, garlic and olive oil. A generous serving of gourmet bakkwa (pork belly) was cut into small squarish pieces and thrown into the mix, creating a perfect alternate take on this dish. We loved it that the grillery used angel hair pasta which really allowed the flavours to be coated on each bite. Who would have thought that bakkwa went so well with aglio olio? This was simply genius! 👍
Lastly, we were served the Capsicum and Gourmet Bakkwa Pizza. The pizza was served on a thin crust with legit tomato base, capped with cheesy goodness and bakkwa slices. If this were a blind taste test, we’d have thought that the pizza was from an Italian pizzeria! Probably one of the best pizza crust and tomato base we’ve had in Singapore. Though there were only thin slices of capsicum on the pizza, we could taste its smokey flavours that balanced the dish really well. The capsicum had to be of an excellent quality and/or prepared separately before adding to the pizza. Another outstanding dish at Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery.
