BREW Craft Beer Pub in Rotorua was actually introduced to us by our AirBnB host at Mahoe Street. Kathryn was really friendly and made a couple of introductions for craft beers in the city. Since we didn’t want to drink and drive, we decided to walk over to BREW Craft Beer Pub, about 20 minutes away by foot.
BREW Craft Beer Pub Located Along Eat Streat Rotorua
BREW Craft Beer Pub is located at 1103 Tutanekai Street, Rotorua 3010, New Zealand. To find it, all you have to do is head towards the town centre where you will find EAT STREAT – a food street where all the restaurants are located.
BREW Craft Beer Pub has Hoppy Hours (aka Happy Hours) from 4pm to 6pm daily. Depending on the beers that you choose, you’ll be able to typically save 2 to 3 dollars a pint during Hoppy Hours. This time, we had the Huck Hazy IPA ($10.50) and Raspberry Stout ($9.5) along with the Loaded Fries ($17) that comes with bacon BBQ sauce, aioli, jalapenos and cheese
What We Had at BREW Craft Beer Pub Rotorua
For the craft beers from BREW, we enjoyed both the choices that we had. For the Huck Hazy IPA, it had a nice hazy gold colour and tasted mildly hoppy with a crisp citrusy flavour. Just how a Hazy IPA ought to be. Having been plying the craft beer scene in Hanoi, we have a better sense of our craft beers and they do it well at BREW Craft Beer Pub! We were especially surprised by the Raspberry Stout that somehow achieved the raspberry aroma within the stout – who would have thought that they’re such a great match?
As BREW Craft Beer Pub was more of a stopover before dinner later, we only ordered a starter but the Loaded Fries was amazing! It had the nice cheesy and bacony flavours while the jalapenos were so spicy! Makes you want to wash it down with the ice cold craft beers. Of course, one of our favourite bar grub in recent times has got to be the La Bomba Nachos at Holy Guacamole in Penang

We had a pretty good time at BREW Craft Beer. The payment via app was smart and increases efficiency for the staff. No need to swing by to take orders and has better security for the restaurant – no payment, no drinks. The craft beers at BREW Craft Beer Pub are legit and if the Loaded Fries are any indication, the food at BREW are pretty good as well. Just note that when we arrived at 5pm, the place was packed as BREW Craft Beer Pub is really popular during its Hoppy Hours! Enjoy!
