Brisbane Travels Day 4: Travelling from Montville to Noosa

Flaxton Barn Burger ($16.9)

On day 4 of our Brisbane Travels, we decided to sleep in a little. After all, we’re on vacation right? After packing up, we took a walk from our AirBnB in Flaxton to Flaxton Barn, less than a 10 minutes walk away…

At 10am, we were still one of the earliest customers at Flaxton Barn. Probably due to the foggy weather that morning. Again, due to the foggy weather, we were unable to catch a glimpse of the views from Flaxton Barn. If you have captured these amazing views, let us know more in our comments section below!

After checking out the menu, we decided to have the chunky beef pie ($16.9) as well as the Flaxton Barn burger ($16.9) as well as our morning cuppa – Flat White ($4.9)…

Both the beef pie and burger were unique. For the beef pie, the meat was indeed chunky. The taste also indicated that the beef was simmered over a long period of time for the red wine to be infused into the meat. As for the burger, the beef was cooked just right. The fresh ingredients of caramelised onion and beetroot, added another dimension on every bite. A nice hearty breakfast to kick start the day.

The main other reason why we visited Flaxton Barn, is because it is actually an antique shop as well. Here, you’ll be able to find some unique finds and also some gourmet foods such as chutney and wines. What caught our attention was definitely the desk converted from the front of a jeep. The headlights are still working as well! Cool! As we still had some time after our little shopping experience at Flaxton Barn, we decided to have the scones – complete with fresh whipped cream. Yummilicious!

Address: 445 Flaxton Drive, Flaxton QLD 4560, Australia
Opening Hours: 9am to 5pm

As the bus 890 was planned to arrive at 12:54pm, we decided to head out at about 12:15pm. Very kiasu (Singlish for “scared to lose” or in this case, very conservative). In case we miss the bus and ruin the schedule for the rest of the day. Bus 890 from Flaxton back to Nambour Station costs $3.5 per person. Thereafter, at Nambour Station, we took bus 631 which took us to Noosa. The bus ride from Nambour to Noosa took about 1.5 hours and costs $4.85.

Where to Stay in Noosa, Sunshine Coast?

As the “Relaxation Capital of Australia“, Noosa boasts of pristine beaches, gourmet restaurants and boutique shopping options. Of course, there are several great hotels such as the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort , Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas as well as the Noosa International Resort. All of which are great spring boards to the famous Noosa National Park.

With the advent of Agoda Homes, we were able to search for apartment options, other than the traditional hotels in the Sunshine Coast area. An option to bring down costs as well 🙂 This time, we stayed at Noosaville…
