During our most recent return from Vietnam, we visited Changi Lounge and found that
1. You can actually visit Changi Lounge after you have arrived in Singapore (condition states that as long as you have a boarding pass that shows the departure on the same day)
2. Hot food options have been restored at Changi Lounge! Yay! 😍
Instead of the pastry and gourmet coffee options during our last visit (see below), we were instead given vouchers. On it, you can see that you can receive a hot meal, a beer as well as a shower at Changi Lounge.
In addition, you’ll be happy note that a semi-buffet of snacks, pastries, coffee/tea and non-alcoholic beverages have also returned!
We’re glad that the variety of options has improved since our last visit. In terms of alcoholic options, there is currently only the Tiger Beer option – served from a can. Nothing to shout about but definitely an improvement if you’re looking for more food options.

Along with the voucher, you can scan the QR code for the latest Food and Beverage menu at Changi Lounge. During our visit, we found that you can have light bites, options for kids as well as the hot meals which currently offers 4 options:
1. Singapore Laksa
2. Tom Yum Noodles
3. Beef Lasagne
4. Chilli Crab with Man Tou

As we’ve had probably one of the best laksa from SATS Premier Lounge and having just returned from Thailand/Vietnam, we decided to try out the Beef Lasagne and Chilli Crab with Man Tou during this visit…
We’ve actually read negative reviews about the Beef Lasagne from Changi Lounge before we put in our order. However, we were pleasantly surprised by what we received. The portion was decent and nicely plated in a deep-dish plate. Previous reviews had cited the lasagne to be still frozen within – this did not happen in our case. In fact, we pretty much enjoyed this dish with the pulling and tugging of the mozzarella as well as the creamy, cheesy feeling within. Texture of the pasta was not too bad either.
As for the Chilli Crab with Man Tou, we originally thought that it would just be served with the “chilli crab sauce” sans crab. However, we were happy to see shreds of crab in the dip. Though it was slightly spicy (that’s where the beer comes in handy), the dish tasted authentic with a nicely fried man tou that soaked up the chilli crab sauce. We’re thinking that there must be some tie-up with restaurants at Jewel? Otherwise, this dish is quite appetising as well.
As for the Tom Yum Noodles, we found the noodles to be a little uncooked. The prawns though were somewhat succulent. This would not be a choice for our future visits though as the soup tasted like that from a pre-mix.
After you check into Changi Lounge, you’ll receive a ticket that has 3 options on it. A hot meal (as per the choices above), an alcoholic beverage (a Tiger beer – we had to ask for glass ourselves) and a hot bath. Of which, we thought the showers here was one of the best with Priority Pass…
Changi Lounge has rainshower facilities, fragrant shower amenities and also bathroom amenities such as toothbrush/toothpaste and shavers available. We love it that the 3 shower facilities are individually cleaned prior to each use – unlike some other lounges on the airside.
On the downside, if you’re a pastries person, you’d probably prefer the previous offerings of pastry and gourmet coffee because both of these have dropped in quality in the new food options. The egg tart was ok but not of the gourmet Portuguese tart standards and the coffee from the machine tasted a little mild. Unlike the gourmet pastries and coffee from our previous visit, these were miles away. Probably because the focus has now shifted to provide more food options, which can be a good thing for travellers looking for a light bite before departure or after arrival in Singapore.
Original post from 17th November 2022
Following our review of Changi Lounge @ Jewel in 2020, it has been 2 years since our last flight due to COVID. Although the premise of Jewel’s Changi Lounge has remained largely unchanged, this post will provide some updates on some of the small but significant changes we saw during our last visit there…

Change #1: No Buffet Option at Jewel’s Changi Lounge
If you have read our previous post on Changi Lounge back in 2020, you would have noticed that there was a buffet spread then. That is now gone. In its place is this pastry and beverage menu…
You can now only choose from these categories of
Pastries
Butter Croissant
Chocolate Danish
Raisin Swirl
Blueberry Muffin
Double Chocolate Chip Muffin
Beverages (Hot)
Espresso
Americano
Cappucino
Latte
Mocha
Milo
Oolong
Camomile
Earl Grey
Green Tea
Peppermint
Beverages (Cold)
Coke
Coke Zero
A&W Root Beer
7-Up
Ice Lemon Tea
Pokka Green Tea
Apple Juice
Orange Juice
There is also a restriction on each category. You can choose up to 3 pastries and 3 beverages during each visit. But if you’re travelling in twos or more, that will quickly add up and will be sufficient for the group. However, there’s another change that we saw…

Change #2: No More Alcoholic Options at Jewel Changi Lounge
Previously, there was complimentary beer option for Priority Pass holders at Changi Lounge. However, this time, we did not see any alcoholic option on the beverage list above. This is despite the fact that the Priority Pass App indicates that “Alcoholic Drinks” are available at the lounge. It could well mean that alcoholic beverages are available but chargeable.
Although, it could be one of those options that are made available if you ask for it. If you’ve managed to enjoy a couple of drinks at Changi Lounge post-COVID, do share with our readers in the comments section below!
Change #3: Quality of Refreshments at Changi Lounge Jewel is Very Good
The upside to the change in menu is that the quality of food has improved SIGNIFICANTLY! During our previous visit in 2020, the food quality was really quite meh 😒😑
But now, the quality of pastries reminded us of a visit to Tiong Bahru Cafe and the likes. For instance, the Chocolate Danish and Raisin Swirl had outer crusts that were so crisp. The tastes were excellent as well. The Double Chocolate Chip Muffin was so rich in flavour while the latte and mocha had “gourmet” written all over it.
Despite the seemingly “poorer offerings” at Changi Lounge, there was an apparent surge in quality of beverages and pastries – one that could only be replicated at reputable cafes. Kate even remarked that the simple set of 2 pastries and 2 beverages that we ordered could easily have had a value of $20++ at one of these cafes.
Change #4: Travelers Are Back at Changi Lounge Jewel
Lastly, we also noticed that travelers across the world are back in Singapore! During our visit, we could see single travelers, couple travelers and even families traveling as a group, lounging here at Changi Lounge. The decorations within are still as welcoming as when it first opened.

Do note that Changi Lounge is a landside lounge. Great for travelers departing from Terminal 1 due to its proximity to Jewel Changi Airport where you can grab a quick bite before catching your next flight out.
