Cheeselads is a cheese gourmet restaurant that offers not only cheese platters paired with wine but also mains and desserts. With the Kris+ meal at Cheeselads priced at $130 for 2 pax, we decided to try out the offerings at Cheeselads and in this review, we’ll share the cheese platter, mains, wines and desserts that we had at Cheeselads Singapore this time!
About Cheeselads Singapore Review
Located along 117 Tyrwhitt Road, next to Jalan Besar Stadium, Cheeselads has a classy frontage with outdoor seatings.
Inside Cheeselads, the elegant setting continues with tables laid with cutleries, paintings on the wall as well as a wide selection of cheeses available for takeaway as well. During our visit, we noticed several guests coming in just for the cheeses. Some of whom knew exactly that type of cheese that they were looking for. According to the season, some cheeses may not be available and the staff would then make recommendations according to the preference of the guests. From this, we observed that a community of cheese lovers had grown from Cheeselads being the conduit.

What We Had at Cheeselads Singapore Review
Shortly after we placed our orders, we were served with the wines first. As you can see from the photos the servings of Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc from Cheeselads is rather generous. As for the appearance, the wines had the “tear-drops” expected of quality wines and lastly in terms of taste, the Cab had the full-body cheery tastes while the Sauv Blanc had the refreshing peach flavours that we love. The wines went perfectly with the cheese platter that came next…
As we had pretty poor memory, we also requested for the staff to share with us the cheeses that were on the cheese platter…
The Cheeselads House Cheese Platter includes
– Farm House Cheddar
– Signature Truffle Brie
– Moulin Reserve
– Mimolette (24 mths)
– Hereford Hop
– Nougat (Rosewater and Original)
As you can see from platter, the selection has a good variety with generous servings. In particular, our favourites were the Mimolette and Farm House Cheddar. Of course, the dried cranberry and nuts also elevated the experience along with our wines.
Next, the mains…
The Scallop Angel Hair from Cheeselads arrived with a perfect presentation. The pasta was nicely placed in the centre topped with Ikura (salmon fish roe) while the sides are lined with the huge and plump scallops. In terms of taste, the pasta was fragrant and the texture of the Ikura complemented the angel hair pasta well. Of course, the star of this dish has got to be the scallops. Sweet and succulent. Leaves you pining for more. An excellent dish!
When the Aged Ribeye Steak arrived, we were actually quite surprised at the quality of beef that Cheeselads was serving up. We loved everything about this dish. The charred broccolini was nicely seared while the texture remained firm. As for the beef, you could taste the aged beef and its concentrated flavours within. Moreover, the beef-fat infused sauce gave another full-bodied dimension to this dish. Yummy!
After a sumptuous meal, Cheeselads still had a surprise for us. For dessert, we had the Fried Camembert Ice Cream which was so delectable. You could taste the fried texture of the camembert yet having the slight chewiness on each bite. Coupled with the hokkaido milk vanilla ice cream, this dish was an excellent end to a great meal at Cheeselads.

There were a couple of minor issues that we picked up during our meal at Cheeselads. For instance, there wasn’t a dedicated steak knife for the steak and that the mains were served while we were still working on the cheese platter. But all in all, the taste of each of the cheese platter, mains and dessert were pretty good. The wines also accentuated the overall experience within a classy ambience of Cheeselads.
