Dash Resort Langkawi is one of the hotels that we were looking forward to while visiting Langkawi this time. There are several pros of staying at this hotel, including its cool beach club vibe, a large swimming pool that faces the Andaman Sea as well as its location right in front of the beach. However, the reviews revealed one major con. And that is the loud music that plays through the wee hours which would affect rooms by the swimming pool. Also, at $160 SGD per night (inclusive of breakfast), it was not exactly cheap either. Nonetheless, taking all things into consideration (because of room allocation – which we’ll discuss later), we still really enjoyed our stay at Dash Resort Langkawi. Perhaps in the future, we’d consider the day pass that Dash Resort offers – 50RM for swim only or 80RM for a sun lounger – both prices comes with 2 drinks and use of the towel.

Dash Resort Langkawi Superior King Room Review
At $160SGD per night, we were given the lowest priced room, the Superior King Room that comes with breakfast. The good thing was that because we paid for the lowest priced room, we were given a room with no views, AWAY from the swimming pool area which would play loud music each night. Thankful for this arrangement that as a result, we were able to sleep very soundly each night.

This time, we were allocated a first floor room. Inside, we were quite happy with the interior decorations. It was modern, with whimsical designs that correlates with the “Alice-in-Wonderland” theme that the resort is leaning towards. The curtain was in the teal blue that Kate likes as well. In terms of amenities, you’ll find shower and coffee/tea amenities available with towels as well. There’s cable TV which allowed Tom to re-watch The Great Wall starring Matt Damon and Dungeons and Dragons in the evenings.
Dash Resort Langkawi Facilities
Flex Gym Center

As we were located at level 1, the gym of Dash Resort Langkawi was just a short walk away. The great thing for us was that because we don’t require daily housekeeping, we were able to get our daily water from the gym. The gym is also quite well-equipped having the usual treadmills, free-weights as well as gym machine. Also, it is spacious enough for you to do some HIIT too.
Rabbit Hole Spa

There is an in-house spa in Dash Resort Langkawi known as the Rabbit Hole Spa. Riding on the whimsical theme, their treatments have names like “Down the Rabbit Hole Foot Massage” and “Wonderland Mirage Retreat”. However, their treatments don’t come cheap. 220RM for a 60mins foot massage and 280RM for a 60mins body massage – comparable to reputable spas in Singapore.
In and Around Dash Resort Langkawi

In and around Dash Resort Langkawi, you’ll be able to find many statues that reflect the whimsical theme that the hotel continues in. For instance, the iconic Blue Bunny of Dash Resort Langkawi, has a HUGE blue bunny statue right by the pool. You’ll find various statues from the pool to the hotel lobby. There are 2 favourites that noticed. Firstly, you’ll find art portraits of superheroes in 17th century outfits. That series was hilarious but so smart. Secondly, we like the display statues right by the lobby, next to the pool table. Here, you’ll find more whimsical displays such as an overgrown (i.e. FAT) superman! That was really funny as well!
Dash Resort Swimming Pool & Pool Bar

Our favourite part Dash Resort Langkawi is definitely the swimming pool. There are various sections of the pool. For instance, a shallower area next to the Blue Bunny where kids can have fun in. The pool then connects all the way to the fish tank pool right next to the beach. Along the way, you’ll find various spots that you can perch on and enjoy shows on the big screen in the evenings. One of our favourite spot is below the bridge because that’s the only spot that blocks out the sun throughout the day. While we like to renew our tan, we like to do it in a gradual manner – sunblock applied
At the pool bar, known as The Shack, we were able to get some pretty good 1664 Blanc draft beers as well as bar bites…

The draft beers at The Shack (Pool Bar of Dash Resort Langkawi) were 15RM. This translates to about $5 SGD which is rather affordable. However, for cheaper beers, do look out for “Tappers Hour”. These hours would be shown on the hotel’s programme schedule for the week. During “Tappers Hour”, Tiger and Carlsberg beers would go for only 10RM. A pretty good deal. We also enjoyed the bar bites which turned out to be good as well.
Night Vibes and Fire Twirling by the Pool

In the evenings, the swimming pool comes to life as Dash Beach Club takes over, with DJs jiving live tunes. This reminds us that when the music comes on (which can be quite loud in the evenings), we’d notice a Greek lady dancing to the beat, usually with a drink in hand. The lights would usually come on and illuminate the area, just like in a club.
On Fridays and Saturdays, Dash Resort Langkawi also have their own Fire Twirlers who will come on at 9:30pm. It was quite entertaining to watch as you can see from the video below (at the end)…

Beach Next to Dash Resort Langkawi

Another thing that we love about Dash Resort Langkawi is its location right in front of the beach. After chilling out by the pool in the evenings, we just have to grab a drink from the bar to enjoy the beautiful sunsets that bid us farewell each evening. Once the sun sets, we’d take a stroll on the beach where beautiful pink and purple hues would continue to illuminate the skies.
Simply beautiful.
Thank the Lord for His marvelous creations!
Dash Resort Langkawi Breakfast Buffet with Sparkling Wine

Breakfast is served from 630 to 1030am each morning at Mya Kitchen & Cocktails – the in-house restaurant of Dash Resort Langkawi. The cool thing about the buffet breakfast at Dash Resort Langkawi is that there is a free-flow of sparkling wine as well!

As you can see from the breakfast buffet selection at Dash Resort Langkawi, it is actually quite extensive. You’ll be able to find local selection of fried noodles and curry chicken, western selection of eggs and cereals as well as pastries and coffees. As mentioned earlier, the breakfast buffet also includes a free-flow sparkling wine. The only catch is that it must be poured by one of the staff who will only pour to half a glass. They do adhere to the instructions quite a bit.

Besides the warm temperatures in Mya Kitchen in the mornings, we pretty much enjoyed our breakfast at Dash Resort Langkawi. Each day, we’ll take our time to check out the offerings and enjoy our coffee/sparkling wines – sometimes chilling out for 2 to 3 hours. Thereafter, we’d grab a drink and sit outside, maybe by the pool or near the beach. Relaxed vibes all round.

Conclusion
As you have seen, we had a pretty good time at Dash Resort Langkawi. We love that the pool is huge and you can have several favourite spots – to hide from the sun, watch the big screens or catch the sunset. We also love the location next to the beach where we’d stroll in the mornings and evenings. Breakfast with sparkling wine was also a plus. Lastly, don’t forget to check out Tapper’s Hour – don’t be like us, only finding out about it on our last day! We hope you have enjoyed our review of Dash Resort Langkawi.
