On day 3 of our Cruise to Nowhere with Dream Cruise’s Genting World Dream, we started the morning with a latte from Bar 360. We woke up at 6:30 and thought that the only venue that probably serves drinks, would be Bar 360 at Deck 6 and we were right! After a short glimpse of the tranquil morning sea views, we headed out the gym session at 7am…
Cruise to Nowhere Dream Cruises Genting World Dream Gym at Crystal Life Spa (Deck 15)
We arrived at the gym at 6:55am for our 7am gym slot. However, as we were still early, we were told to wait for a little while more. At 7am sharp, we were told that we could head to the gym. Due to the ongoing pandemic, there were only 2 pax allowed in the entire gym. A huge gym at that! Upon entering into the gym, we were handed a gym towel by the gym attendant and we were free to roam around. We must say that World Dream’s gym is pretty well equipped. You have the usual of treadmills with sea views, free weights (again with sea views) and gym machines. The one difference was the availability of spin bikes. There’s also a small space that allows you cruisers to do some aerobics or probably have classes pre-COVID. Comparatively, we still think that the gym on Quantum of the Seas is still one of the best gyms at sea we’ve seen. Nonetheless, the one on Genting World Dream is still pretty decent.
Dream Cruises Cruise to Nowhere on World Dream – Breakfast at Dream Dining Room (Upper)
Prior to this meal, we wanted to say that we were never disappointed with any meals at Dream Dining Room (Upper). However, this breakfast was pretty disappointing. There were several dishes served here but we’ll give a quick review of why it ruined our impression of DDR (Upper)…
Braised Silver Pin Noodles with Minced Pork – minced pork was hardly to be seen. The bee tai mak was not really braised at all.
Chicken congee with salted egg – bland.
Deep fried vegetable spring roll – not crispy and tasted just like the cheap frozen versions
Deep fried chicken wanton – so small!
Vegetable crystal dumpling – like the vegetable spring roll, not worth the calories
Steamed red bean bao – probably the only decent food for breakfast this morning
Just like our experience at Dream Dining (Lower), we were not able to order mimosa. So, we ordered the ingredients and recreated our own mimosa for breakfast. It was probably the only thing that salvaged our breakfast this morning.
Dream Cruises Cruise to Nowhere on World Dream – Jacuzzi at Zouk Beach Club
After breakfast, it was time for our jacuzzi session at Zouk Beach Club. You will have to head over to Deck 16 to hand over your registration slip and tap your card before heading over to Zouk Beach Club.
After checking in, we headed aft to the jacuzzis located at Zouk Beach Club. Enroute, we were greeted by this amazing full rainbow!
This was also the first time that we’ve seen a rainbow that extends right into the sea! Reminded us of God’s love and goodness! What a beautiful sight!
Remember the boo boo that we made on the very first day? Where we made the swimming pool booking instead of a jacuzzi booking that resulted in no more available night jacuzzi slots the next morning? Turns out that it was a blessing in disguise! After trying out the first slot (8 to 9am) of jacuzzi at Zouk Beach Club, this would be the time slot and location that we’d recommend. Why? Because the air was still relatively cool in the morning, making a soak in a hot jacuzzi tub, the perfect start to the day. Moreover, the jacuzzis at Zouk Beach Club, not only have their own private showers, there’s also unblocked sea views! These are different from the jacuzzis by the pool area. Moreover, the bright morning sun serves as a great lighting for those instagrammable photos. In fact, we saw a few couples hopping by to get some of their instagram shots as well in their OOTD. So, remember to book your jacuzzi slots here at Zouk Beach Club instead! The jacuzzis have 2 buttons. One for the bubbles and the other for the jet. Try them both out!
Dream Cruises Cruise to Nowhere on World Dream – VR Games at ESC Experience Lab (Deck 16)
After checking our Dream Daily on Day 3,
We found that there was an early bird promotion for VR games at ESC Experience Lab this morning form 915am to 1015. It actually happens twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening. Look out for the deals on Dream Daily and head over to enjoy the games!
The deal goes for $22 for 2 games. The usual price for some of the more expensive games are $15. From the recommendations from the staff, the 2 most value-for-money games would be the Virtual Motion Simulator and the VR Maze. We wanted to try the Finger Coaster originally, but was told that it only lasted about 1:30min. The 2 games we tried though, allowed you to totally immerse in the VR environment, take your time to explore. As a result, it can last about 10 minutes per game if you really take your time.
Virtual Motion Simulator
Even before our Cruise to Nowhere with World Dream, we’ve wanted to try the motion simulator due to one movie. You’ve guessed it! Johnny English! It was an interesting experience altogether. First, we were given a pair of motion simulator shoes – it provides more friction to the sensors on the motion simulator. Next we were handed the VR goggles as well as the controller and it was time to rock and roll!
The storyline of the VR motion simulator is about you as part of the army, entering a zombie holding area. However, the zombies have broken out and taken control of the area. So, yah, your role is to shoot the zombies. The motion simulator was actually very realistic. With the harness around you, you could lean in and really run or walk around the premise within the game. You’d be given instructions to follow another army chap in the game. However, half way into the game, he gets taken out and you’ll be all on your own to shoot the remaining zombies and get out of there alive! A really exciting game. As you can see from the realism of leaning backwards as the zombies got closer! Sweat broke out literally!
VR Maze
After the exhilarating VR Motion Simulator, we tried out the VR Maze. The VR is constructed according to the physical maze that you’ll be navigating. Hence, no worries about banging your head into the barrier or something like that. The VR maze game is a game of shooting skeletons with a cross bow. The animation we must say, is very very realistic! There was a part that it seemed as though we were at the edge of the platform, turns out, there was a small little path to the left that we could continue to walk on. There’s another part where we stood still but the lift brought us down into the dungeons. Enroute down, we were able to look upwards, downwards, left and right while continuing to shoot the skeletons. Though it’s not as “scary” as the motion simulator, it was definitely very realistic in terms of the animations. Both games were worth a try! If you had tried other VR games at ESC Experience Lab, let us know in the comments section below!
Dream Cruises Cruise to Nowhere on World Dream – Colourful Clay Keychain Making at Palm Court (Deck 19)
The Clay Keychain Making class at Palm Court was a hit. At 10am, the place for registration was almost full and when the stand and sign-up sheet was placed, everyone rushed towards it – as though Hello Kitty was on sale. After counting that there were already more than 15 people in the queue, we stepped back for more wine. Little did we know that the afternoon sign-up was done at the same time! When we rejoined the queue, the afternoon sign up was full as well! 😭
Thankfully, there was still one slot left for the 1015 class and Kate managed to sign up while Tom sipped on more wine 😄
Kate was able to create 2bearbear Clay Keychain models! Unfortunately, only 1 keychain could be provided to each participant. So Kate placed it on the Oktoberfest beer mug. After drying out, the keychain felt really light.
We also wanted to book the Tie-Dye Shirt making class. However, the slots were booked pretty early on at ESC Experience Lab. Hence, if you see this programme on your Dream Daily, be one of the first few on site to make a reservation! Pretty sure it’s a fun class as well. If you’ve been to it, share with our readers in the comments section below 🙂
Dream Cruises Cruise to Nowhere on World Dream – Lunch at Dream Dining Room (Upper)
For lunch, we returned to Dream Dining Room (Upper) for…
After lunch, we returned for a Creative Graffiti class at Palm Court again. The class was pretty short and all you had to do was to scratch out the design that you like…
Oktoberfest at Sea continued with an enrichment class at 2:15 on the traditional Dirndl…
This time, we learnt about what the various ribbon tied at various areas of the Dirndl mean…
Bow tied in the middle: virgin or “It’s none of your business!”
Bow to the rear: widow, server or child
Bow to the side: married or in a relationship
While learning about the Dirndl, we also got to chill with some coffee at the Lobby Cafe. We ordered the iced latte but were told that it may not turn out nice as only one shot of the espresso would be added. However, it eventually turned out quite decent. The other class that we wanted to attend was the sand bottle class. Though we missed it, we managed to finally try out the Rope Course!
Cruise to Nowhere – Rope Course of Dream Cruises World Dream
Due to the showers in the morning, we actually missed the Rope Course in the last 2 mornings. This was the 4th attempt and we finally got to try the Rope Course on Genting World Dream!
If you queue up about 15 minutes before the opening of the slot (like we did), you should be able to be on the Rope Course in about 30 minutes or so. Donning of the harness was pretty quick. Once you’re “suited up”, you’ll realise that only one of the safety carabiners can be opened. The other stays locked. It is actually a safety mechanism. So what happens is after you hook on the carabiners that is unlocked, unto the rope, there are “keys” to unlock the other carabiner by pushing it under the “key”. This way, you’ll always have one carabiner unlocked, while the other is safely on the rope course.
The Rope Course itself was quite exciting! At no point at all did we fall but to navigate the ropes, especially the giant cargo net at the end, was definitely exhilarating. At the end of the course, you’ll be treated to a flying fox, right over the ocean! A perfect end to a wonderful activity onboard the World Dream!
Cruise to Nowhere Dream Cruises World Dream Dining Room (Lower) Oktoberfest Menu
Just before dinner, we had our moscato pre-dinner drinks from Deck 8’s Mixt Cocktail Bar. We then took the drinks out to the boardwalk to see other cruisers do their flying fox over the ocean. Dinner tonight was slightly different. It was the Oktoberfest Menu! It also probably explained the queue you see below. The final night’s dinner menu was probably one of the best at Dream Dining Room (Lower) and we had to compliment the Oktoberfest Menu with some Bavaria Beer (albeit non-alcoholic)
As usual, we ordered everything on the menu! 😋
We must say that all of the mains were pretty good this evening. Including the Vegetarian Dumplings, which were mushroomy and flavourful – almost like a truffly taste. The Pan Seared Seabass was fresh and of course the boiled pork knuckle was soooooo goooood. The fats that accompanied it went with the draft beer soooo well! Should have ordered seconds and thirds if not for the many other tables that we saw weren’t served as yet.
Cruise to Nowhere Dream Cruises World Dream Markets of the World
After dinner, we strolled on Deck 16 and caught a glimpse of the beautiful sunset. We then headed to the aft, to Zouk Beach Club where the games of Markets of the World would take place.
We actually snooze at the area and looked at the night sky for about 30 minutes before the Markets of the World (Games) began. The response was pretty underwhelming actually. By the time the event was supposed to start (8pm), there were only 5 couples at the entire Zouk Beach Club. Kudos to the events team however, for setting up, still putting up a lively show with a great performance to kick off the evening. The games were mostly throwing games and the prizes were consisted mostly of soft toys. We then headed over to the swimming pool area for the Markets of the World (Food)…
On our very first meal at Dream Dining Room (Upper) when we first boarded, we were introduced to the event and asked to purchase a $25 voucher. However, after browsing the menu, nothing was of interest. Also, the offer was not that enticing. An additional jelly. Hm…would we buy a $25 voucher for an additional jelly?
To round off the evening, we redeemed our free ice cream from Lobby Cafe first…
We received the ice cream vouchers after participating in the rose-making class. So, joining the classes, besides learning a thing or two, can be a perk for ice-cream lovers as well. These ice creams were FANTASTIC!
We then began our last evening of chilling by Mixt Cocktail Bar while people watching around the perimeters of Bar 360. It was pretty nice to have conversations with each other, people watch and recapping the beautiful memories that we’ve created during this Cruise to Nowhere aboard the Dream Cruises World Dream. But, we did have quite a number of drinks as you can see…
After some machine games, we rushed out to catch the laser show at 10:45pm. It was mesmerising but be careful not to stare at the laser beams directly…
We eventually cashed out after a good run and lost a princely sum of $2. Or one could argue that it was $1 per person for 1 hour’s worth of gaming entertainment. 😉
For supper, we headed to Blue Lagoon to get some Latte before heading to the 24 hours supper joint for some hearty vermicelli!
Dream Cruises Cruise to Nowhere Day 4: Nasi Lemak Breakfast at the Lido
On our last day, we woke up for breakfast at 7am again and were greeted with views of Singapore. Beautiful views. But sad because it meant that our 4D3N Cruise to Nowhere aboard the Dream Cruises World Dream was about to end. But not before some great coffee and the famous Nasi Lemak from the Lido buffet dining!
The nasi lemak turned out to be good. Not perfect because of the slightly soggy rice. But because of the excellent belachan chili and the curry chicken (plus other nasi lemak condiments), we’d still recommend dining here at least once for the breakfast!
On the final night, you’d be given this departure instructions that states what time you’d be slated to depart from the ship. I think the logic would be that the higher levels would board first on boarding day but depart first on departure day, thereby “equalising” the amount of time aboard for everyone. As our departure time was 920am, we were told that the latest time we’d have to leave was at 10am. The door would be kept opened with a door shuttle after the attendant knocks on your door.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the breakfast at Upper Dining Room is horrible 🙂 Your German dinner at Lower Dining Room looks so yummy, I wish I had the same for my cruise. I enjoy reading your review, you definitely made the best of your cruise.
ikr…hits and misses for breakfasts here. Think breakfast at DDR (Lower) and the Lido would be safer bets. Thanks for dropping by Eva. Your posts are really interesting as well! Hope we have provided sufficient information for subsequent cruisers in their cruise to nowhere preparations!
