Fairmont Singapore was our next staycation venue following our staycation at Mandarin Orchard Singapore. As with staycations during the COVID-19 era, it is wiser to make bookings for swimming pools and gym prior to your visit. This time, we arrived at the hotel lobby of Fairmont Singapore at about 1130. Surprisingly, our room was ready!
As we didn’t expect the room to be ready this early, the original plan was to check-in, head for lunch and return to collect our room key. Since the room was ready, we checked out our Fairmont Singapore King Suite to drop off our stuff and snap some photos of the room…
Fairmont Singapore King Suite Review
First impressions? The room is HUGE!
There are actually not 1 but 2 balcony areas in this suite! One of the balcony faces the city while the other faces the swimming pool with views of Marina Bay Sands (MBS)!
If you need more privacy, you can even control both the day and night curtains using this nifty device…
Of course, the king-sized bed itself was sooooo comfortable!
As with most hotel rooms in Singapore, the suite in Fairmont Singapore comes with coffee/tea and bathroom amenities…
We also brought our own bath bomb to make full use of the bath tub during our stay…
After checking out our room, we headed out for a quick lunch at Poulet Raffles City…
Fairmont Singapore Swimming Pool
There are 2 swimming pools at Fairmont Singapore and they are located at level 8. HOWEVER, during this season, access to the swimming pool can only be done via level 6 through Willow Spa. Please don’t be like us, heading to level 8, only to find that the entrance had been chain-locked before heading back to level 6! 😕
This time, we booked the 1.5 hours slot for swimming pool. You can also book the 2.5 hours slot to use the gym, swimming pool and spa facilities. What facilities? If you head to the male or female spa areas, there will be towels provided for you to use spa pools and sauna which are complimentary for hotel guests!
After you’re checked in at Willow Spa (via Tracetogether App), walked right through the beautifully appointed corridor, head up a flight of stairs and you’ll be right at the swimming pool. As mentioned, there are 2 pools, one with a shallower depth for the kids. Right in the middle, there is a pool bar and we were invited to take a look at the menu…
Happy Hour takes place daily till 7pm. So essentially there’s Happy Hour the entire day since the swimming pool closes at 7pm. This time, we ordered the Seabreeze Cosmopolitan for $10. As our room was booked with a $100 voucher, grabbing a cocktail to kick-off the holidays seemed like a no-brainer…
The drink itself was not too bad. But the thing that could be improved was the vessel used. It was plastic. A real cocktail glass would have made a little difference when we sipped the drink. Nonetheless, a great start to the vacation. We were also thankful for the sun that peeked through the clouds every now and then during our session. Oh, we managed to ask for Straits Times which we “consumed” joyfully during the 1.5 hours – alternating between chilling in the pool and reading on the deck chair. All in all, we had a perfect time at the pool.
Fairmont Singapore $100 Credit
After our pool session, we slept in a little before heading out for our pre-dinner drinks at the Alchemist Lab at South Beach Tower…
Originally, we wanted to return to utilise our remaining $100 for in-room dining. Turns out that the Vaca Frita (fried beef) Nachos from Alchemist Beer Lab was rather filling. Hence, after catching the beautiful hues in the clouds from our room, we headed out again. This time, to try out our luck at Wu Pao Chun Bakery at Capitol Singapore…
To our surprise, the Lychee Rose Royale and Red Wine Longan breads were available! During our first 2 visits, both these breads were quickly sold out during its respective baking windows. Thankfully, on this 3rd time, we managed to buy both of these breads. Find out whether we preferred Lychee Rose Royale or Red Wine Longan breads from Wu Pao Chun here.
Back in our room, we spent our remaining in-room credit on a steak as well as pizza from Prego (remembering that we already spent $10++ at the swimming pool). While waiting for the food to arrive, we enjoyed the night views of the swimming pool and MBS…
Inclusive of the cocktail, the pizza and the steak, we spent $96 inclusive of taxes. No additional out-of-pocket payment 😉 Portion wise, it was rather generous. Definitely filled to the brim at the end of the meal. Loved the thin crust of pizzas from Prego. As for the steak, it was passable. But having had this steak, this steak and this steak, it paled in comparison in terms of size and taste. We also brought some wine which went along pretty well with the dinner this evening.
Fairmont Singapore Gym (via Willow Spa)
The next morning, we started early by doing some workout at the gym. We booked the first slot of the day at 7am…
After checking in at Willow Spa (Tracetogether App), you’ll be given a gym towel and a bottle of water. There are 2 levels at the gym of Fairmont Singapore. The top level consists of free weights and gym machines. This level is the same entrance level as Willow Spa. One level down, that’s where you’ll find all the cardio machines such as treadmills, step, bike and elliptical machines. Also, since you have access to Willow Spa, you’ll be able to chill in one of the spa pools after your gym session as well!
Fairmont Singapore Breakfast at Prego
For breakfast at Fairmont Singapore Staycation, you are given a choice to dine at Prego or have the in-room service. As we had never dined at Prego before, the choice was obvious for us…
We were so glad that we did! The interior decoration inside Prego was so classy. There were retro elements and Kate’s favourite colour could be seen in and around the restaurant. Also, it was so spacious! Although we were seated along the walking passage where the waiters would transit, we never felt that they were too close at any point in time.
Breakfasts at Prego is NOT buffet. It is also NOT ala carte buffet. In essence, you can only order one serving via the app sent to your email. This includes the choice of breakfast, 2 juices and 1 beverage. However, during our visit, we found that fruits will be served at the end of your meal. You can also request for Danish pastries if you’re still a little peckish at the end of the meal. This time we ordered the Lamb Kofta and the Eggs Benedict. There were also other asian choices such as noodles, porridge and dim sum. However, we were really satisfied with our choices. For a start, we ordered beet root and orange juice as well as flat white coffee and cappuccino…
We were pretty satisfied with all the food that were delivered to our table. For starters, the juices were freshly-squeezed. Although it was beet root, it tasted so healthy! 😊 As for the Eggs Benedict, the yolk oozed as it should and the asparagus and jamon made it a little bit more atas. The Lamb Kofta on the other hand was not too salty and in fact, it was oozing with juices on each bite. Of course, paired with the hummus, it was amazing! Although you can’t go for seconds, the breakfast at Prego serves up a healthy portion with excellent standards in the taste department. But if you’d like to end off your meal with pastries, you may politely ask…this time, our request were acceded with these great tasting pastries to accompany our flat whites…
All in all, a great breakfast experience at Fairmont Singapore’s Prego!

To round up our staycation at Fairmont Singapore, we decided to order Grab Food. Why? Because we usually won’t be able to get some of the delivery from restaurants around town in our precinct. This time, we went with obanyaki from 108 Matcha Saro…
Initially, we thought that we’d have to go down to the lobby to collect our Grab Food. Unexpectedly, the order was brought up to our room by the hotel staff! Talk about great service by Fairmont Singapore!
All in all, we had a great staycation at Fairmont Singapore. Enjoyed the great views from our room, spacious bed and bath tubs, great breakfast from Prego as well as the making full use of the location for chilling, shopping and even Grab Food!
