During our recent Genting World Dream Cruise to Nowhere, we decided to try out the Classic Beverage Package. However, we were not able to find out more information during our research. So, we hope that this review of the Classic Beverage Package on World Dream will give you an idea of whether it is worth it for your next Cruise to Nowhere!

What’s Included in the Genting Dream Cruises Classic Beverage Package?
First and foremost, there are a few beverage packages available for booking:
Beverage Package – Premium ($241 for 4D3N Cruise / $187 for 3D2N Cruise)
Unlimited selected spirits, cocktails, mocktails, selected beers, house wines, coffees, teas, chilled juices, soft drinks and bottled water
Beverage Package – Classic ($142 for 4D3N Cruise / $97 for 3D2N Cruise)
Unlimited selected beers, house wines, coffees, teas, chilled juices, soft drinks and bottled water
Beverage Package – Refresh ($88 for 4D3N Cruise / $61 for 3D2N Cruise)
Unlimited coffees, teas, chilled juices, soft drinks and bottled water
We decided on the Classic Beverage Package during our Cruise to Nowhere because it covers all the bases and has our usual wines and beers available. Also, coffees are included, which are great for perk-me-ups in the mornings!
To book the Dream Cruises Beverage Package, you can either do it onboard ($158 which is more expensive) or via the DreamElite membership. Joining the membership is almost immediate, via this website. Remember to record down your membership number after joining.
Thereafter, you can either email (en.memberservices@dreamcruiseline.com) or call them (+65-6223-3311) to purchase the preferred beverage package. Do note that the credit discounts do not apply for beverage packages. Hence, the deal via DreamElite is still the cheapest.
In total, we had about 35 drinks each. This works out to be about $4 per drink – a rather decent price, considering that we had these drinks…

Where can you use the Classic Beverage Package on Genting World Dream Cruises?
There are many venues where you can utilise the Classic Beverage Package. We used it first at Sundeck Bar at Deck 17 (fwd)…
It was also here that we got the yellow stickers that indicate our Beverage Package (P2) on our room card…
All complimentary dining venues of Dream Dining (Upper/Lower) and the Lido, had a full bar, serving draft beers…
The other venue that has draft beers is Tributes…
Zouk Beach Club also serves draft beers but we didn’t really like the area because smoking is allowed there and you cannot bring the drinks to the al fresco area to chill under the stars…
Mixt Cocktail Bar is great place to hang out to people watch. Here, you’ll be able to stare down from Deck 8, right down to Deck 6. If performances are on, you’ll be able to have a bird’s eyes view as well.
Last but not least, our favourite hang out place has got to be Palm Court (Deck 19). Though it does not have draft beers, you’ll be able to enjoy beautiful sea views, great service and a sneak peak into life – that is the Palace Suites…
Of course, you’d be able to get drinks from Bar 360 (Deck 6), especially if you’re early and want to have a cuppa before the other venues open. Bar 360 opens almost the entire day.

Is the Genting Dream Cruises Classic Beverage Package Worth it?
Price wise, it is definitely cheaper than Royal Caribbean Cruise. Also, we were able to get draft beers which RCC did not have. However, there were a couple of down sides to the Classic Beverage Package offered by Genting Dream Cruises…
Firstly, you will not be able to order Mimosa. Even though it is merely a combination of sparkling wine and orange. We asked and were told that technically, it consisted of 2 drinks – which, you are not allowed to order 2 drinks at one go. Hence, to circumvent this, we ordered 2 sparkling wines and 2 chilled orange juice (not fresh) so that we can concoct our own Mimosas.
Secondly, unlike the RCC package, fresh orange juices are not included. That paled in comparison to the daily vitamin C intake that we had throughout the day on Quantum of the Seas.
Lastly, the choice of coffees does not include Caramel Macchiato. Unlike RCC, which allowed multiple espresso shots with different mixtures of vanilla, caramel etc. Dream Cruises only allowed the standard latte, cappuccino and flat white. Even for iced latte, we were told that it would be slightly bland, due to the permission to add only 1 shot to the drink – thankfully, it turned out just fine.

All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the Classic Beverage Package onboard World Dream and would definitely have it again on our next Cruise to Nowhere. The draft beers as well as the excellent choice of sparkling and red wines, they were more than enough to make us feel that it was rather worthwhile. Moreover, with the Classic Beverage Package, we were also given the flexibility to chill at the various venues around the ship. During our dinner at the Specialty dining – Hot Pot, draft beers were allowed to be served there as well.

Hi
Do you know what is the price like per glass for the wine and cocktail?
We are unsure if its worth to take up the drinks package as we are not big drinkers.
Hi Sam,
There are deals onboard for 3 for $20 bottled beers, 2 bottles of wines for $60 and cocktails for about $13 each.
Do check out the dining credits to help offset the cost as the prices above excludes the 18% tax that would be imposed as well.
Enjoy your next cruise!
