Georges By The Bay is a pub located at Punggol Settlement which probably needs no introduction. Started in 1999 as a beverage kiosk in Pasir Ris Park, it has now grown to several restaurant establishments in the eastern part of Singapore. This time, we took the opportunity to visit Georges By The Bay and take in the sights at Punggol Settlement as well as some of its pub grub…
What we had at Georges By The Bay
Using the Eatigo App, we were able to snag a 50% discount for food items during this visit. There were also several ongoing promotions at Georges By The Bay as well…
Of course, what caught our eye was the all-day-long 1-for-1 nitrogenated Guinness Stout…
The draft nitrogenated Guinness Stout was smooth and creamy as advertised. With our pints in hand, we started to browse through the rest of the menu…
There were several items that caught our eye such as the pork knuckle and beer battered fish and chips. To start things off, we went with the crispy chicken strips ($11.9)…
First impressions? The portion is certainly very generous! On the first bite, we knew it was not run-off-the-mill deep fried items from a bag (even if it is, Georges, please do not correct us in the comments section below). 🤣 This is because the chicken strips were so well fried! It was still tender and slightly moist on the inside! One word – shiok!
While munching on these delectable crispy chicken strips, we started our game of scrabble while enjoying the sea views and sea breeze from the corner table of Georges By The Bay…
Although the trees have grown rather tall now, we were still able to have glimpse of the sea and people watch as they jog or cycle by beneath us (Georges by the Bay is located at level 2). Next we ordered the Georges Slides ($15.9)…
The Georges Sliders turned out to be a great choice as well. The beef patty was tender, juicy and flavourful! Coupled with the sweetness of the tomato and lettuce, the slider turned out to be an excellent pub grub. Even if you’re not on the Eatigo deal, you’ll be able to enjoy burgers at 50% off with any draft beer ordered. Midway through, we got a refill of the nitrogenated Guinness draft beer…
Having already had the above drinks and finger foods, we were actually rather full already. But we still had to go for at least a mains to share our experience with our readers (it was in fact just greediness on Tom’s part 😋), so we decided on the Clam ala Vino ($16.9)…
The serving portion was adequate and the clams itself were fresh. However, we didn’t taste the “wow” factor that this dish should have. The idea was rather plain and simple – fresh clams in a “vino” sauce. To be honest, having tried the mussel pot from Youngs Bar and Restaurant, the Clam ala Vino paled in comparison. Granted that they use different seafood (mussels vs clams), the base white wine sauce is similar and the richer version at Youngs, certainly appealed to our taste buds. Nonetheless, the rendition at Georges is still a go if you’re looking for something different to share with your mates.
Georges Revisited
So we revisited Georges By the Bay (Punggol) in mid-2024 and found that the beer deals mentioned above are no longer available. The only deals available are the Happy Hour (HH) prices that are only until 8pm and not available on Fridays, Saturdays and Eve of Public of Holidays. The Happy Hour Menu and Food Menu with prices are here:
As the prices are not as enticing anymore, we went with just 2 glasses of wines this time. Thankfully they do have Sauvignon Blanc available for the whites.
As for food, we went with the Georges Beef Sliders ($16.90) as well as the Beer Battered Dory and Chips ($17.90). Both tasted not too bad and the sauce for the sliders were quite enticing as well.
Although the drinks deals are no longer as enticing, the views remain…
However, some of the trees have really grown and there’s no “unblocked” view. Still the chillax vibes, akin to Changi Village still remains.

All in all, we definitely enjoyed our visit to Georges By The Bay! The relaxing atmosphere allows patrons to wind down, chill and enjoy the views from Punggol Settlement. The food here is prepared with heart and given the quality, served at rather decent prices. The draft beer deals certainly made the visit worth while. So if you’re looking for a venue to hang out with your pals, head out to Georges By The Bay at Punggol Settlement for a great time of chillax by the sea!
