Gram Pancakes originated in Osaka is famous for its pillowy (or ふわふわ fluffy) pancakes. With the current border restrictions, without physically flying to Osaka, you can still get a taste of Osaka through a visit to Gram Pancakes. Reminded us our 12 days travel to Japan where we tried out Pablo Cheese Tarts and flew SQ First Class, visiting the Private Room. And that’s the power of food. It connects us. But we digress…
The main problem of dining at Gram Pancakes is that the hype has not died down and the queue is still so long! Thankfully, Gram Pancakes has worked with Oddle to offer delivery and pick up options. There are pros and cons to having Gram Pancakes at home and in this review, we’ll tell you what we had from Gram Pancakes and whether it is worth it to do so…
Gram Pancakes Singapore Menu
When you think about Gram Pancakes, you’d probably know about its fluffy pancakes and that’s about it right? Turns out, Gram Pancakes is also a pretty good brunch menu that offers options such as eggs benedict, bagels, toasts and also mains like salmon and donburi. Check out this Gram Pancakes Menu and find out some of the offerings that they have…
The Gram Hamburg Pancake as well as the Egg Benedict Pancake definitely caught our eye. Also, look at the size of the Pan Seared Salmon. Of course, these are only pictures from menu. We’ll update the next time we try out these mains and brunch offerings from Gram Pancakes. But first, the sweets pancakes…
We originally wanted to go with the original (what good writing here!) pancakes. At about the same price, you’ll get 3 stacks of the fluffy pancakes instead of two. However, the 3 stacks original fluffy pancakes was not available online. But we were glad that the Mango Premium Pancakes were available ($20.90). Though it came with only 2 stacks of the fluffy pancakes, there were mango puree and cut mango fruits which explained the higher price with lesser pancakes.
The Famous Chilled Pancake Boxes also sounded really yummy. As there’s a minimum order of $40 bucks for pick-up and $60 for delivery, we also ordered the Cookies Box (GST and delivery charges will be added on thereafter). For $21.90, you’ll be able to enjoy 4 stacks of the pancakes with premium fillings within. There’s also an ongoing promotion where the Cookies Box + Original Premium-To-Go goes for $40 for a whopping $1.80 savings! Sounds yummy? Read on to find out more!
Gram Pancakes – What We Had
We were actually very thankful that Oddle didn’t offer the original three stacks online! If you look at the photo carefully, you’d observe water droplets on the sides of the box. These are condensation due to the cooling of the pancakes. As you’d probably know, this meant that our arrival at home, the pancakes were actually not as “fuwa fuwa” as what you get at Gram Pancakes onsite. On a side note, while collecting, we did observe the “bouncy-ness” of the pancakes as the waiters were serving the original pancakes. So it’s not a hoax, it’s just that delivery does not do it justice. Hence, we would not recommend ordering the sweet Gram Pancakes for take-away.
HOWEVER, if you still want to give it a try, contrary to our recommendations, the Mango Premium Pancakes is definitely a great alternative. This is because the condiments were sooo delicious! The mangoes were sweet and ever so slightly tart while the mango puree was a good balance to the fresh fruit itself. Together with the not-so-fluffy pancakes, it was superb. We could still taste the eggy-ness of the pancake with each bite. Of course, the other star of this dish was the fresh cream known as Special Whipped Cream. It was unlike any fresh whipped cream we’ve ever tasted, with a richer milkier taste. The Oreo cookie crumbs gave it a different crumbly texture. 😋
While dining, we also noticed a similarity between the Gram Pancakes and the tail of our Shiba Inu soft toy…
Perhaps, we were just too hungry…😅
As mentioned earlier, the Cookies Box offers great value. At $21.90, not only will you get 4 pancakes, each pancake is stuffed with unique cookies cream of Lotus Biscoff, Oreo ,Earl Grey and White Chocolate…
Besides the Oreo pancake (which tasted just like Oreo fillings), we actually enjoyed the other 3 pancakes and its uniquely created fillings. In order of our preference, it would be
1. Earl Grey Pancake. The Earl Grey filling was our favourite because of the fragrance of the earl grey tea on each bite. Yet at the same time, it was creamy rich. It was so shiok that we left it till the end to finish the pancakes on a beautiful note.
2. Lotus Biscoff Pancake. The Lotus Biscoff came in a close second. The proportion of lotus biscoff to be used is the key. Too much and you’ll have too chunky a mixture. Too little and it will be too creamy without the unique taste of lotus biscoff. Gram Pancakes got it just right here. A little bit of the texture but a great big part on the taste. Well done.
3. White Chocolate Pancake. White Chocolate is not usually our favourite. Yes, there’s already a bias here. Well, what’s chocolate without cocoa right? But in Gram’s rendition, the taste of the white chocolate does peek out from time to time with the smooth rich cream taking the driving seat. Very soothing on each bite.
4. Oreo Pancake. Not to belittle the Oreo Pancake, again the proportion was well-balanced. But Oreos was just that, Oreos. Nothing much to shout about but a good pancake nonetheless. Hopefully, they’ll be able to have other fillings instead of Oreos in the future. That, we’ll definitely try again.
Lastly, as the fillings are slightly sweet, it goes perfectly with a cup of black coffee.

We actually would try Gram Pancakes for the delivery option again in the future. But not, the sweet pancakes options, given that it will lose its “fluffiness” when you dine at home. However, the Famous Chilled Pancakes offer great value with 4 pancakes at approximately the same price. Plus, the unique fillings mixed in with their Special Whipped Cream, made it simply delectable. Also, we’d try out some of the mains and brunch options (probably Hamburg since eggs benedict would likewise not be as good back home).
