Hanoi Cider House was our last stop of the day following a day of strolling around Tay Ho Lake, visiting breweries and cafes such as 7 Bridges Brewing Company, Turtle Lake Brewing Company and Tree Bee Coffee. In addition to the craft beers in Hanoi, Hanoi Cider also offers an alternative to the craft brewery scene. Also, Hanoi Cider House is famous for its signature grills as well.
Getting to Hanoi Cider House
Hanoi Cider House is located at 278 Nghi Tàm, Yên Phụ, Tây Hồ, Hà Nội, Vietnam. Right in front of it is Nghi Tam Road, an almost 8 lane “expressway” that we had to cross before reaching Hanoi Cider. Thankfully, we had been well versed about crossing streets in Hanoi and were able to cross the road rather safely. We think. For such major roads with up to 8 lanes, we decided that we should let cars go first and utilise the “slow and steady pace” approach with the motorcycles. Stay safe!

What We Had at Hanoi Cider House – Brewery & Grill
After ordering the ciders from Hanoi Cider House, we did a quick Google search and found that ciders are fermented naturally in smashed fruits such as apples and mangos. For mulled cider, orange & cranberry along with cinnamon and spices are added to apple cider for this festive drink. We must say that both were a little sweet. By themselves, they were tasty but as accompanying drinks for the BBQ dinner, we’d prefer to have the IPAs. The Mulled Cider in particular, was kept towards the end of the meal as sort of a little dessert drink.
We must say that that the Chargrilled Chicken at Hanoi Cider House is simply delicious. It is little wonder why it is the signature dish at Hanoi Cider House. The chicken had so much taste and flavour in it and it was SO tender! Both the gravies that we chose were perfect but the coriander sauce lifted the dish – reminded us a little of tandoori style chicken when dipped into the minty sauce. This rendition of Chargrilled Chicken easily beats Kenny Rogers hands down with its charred tastes. Delicious!
When the 24 hr slow cooked ribs arrived at our table, we were so thankful that we didn’t order the full slab because the portion was so HUGE! There were chunky meats that were so fall-off-the-bone tender. The BBQ sauce chosen made the dish so much more appetizing. As the slab was fatty, it was still slightly juicy when we went in for the bite. Another excellent dish from Hanoi Cider House – salivating even as we write this post.

As we travelled with our Rummikub travel set, we decided to play a game while sipping on the “dessert” Mulled Cider at Hanoi Cider House. What a surprise find in Hanoi! If we were to be craving for BBQ Grills in Hanoi, we’d be sure to head down to Hanoi Cider House to try out more of its signature or recommended dishes!
Now, how should cross back the road again?
