Heli Lounge Bar (aka “Helipad”) was where we chose to chill for the evening after a day of eating (at Restoran Pan Heong Batu Caves) and shopping (at Pavilion KL). Kate was thinking about roof top bars and a quick search rendered Heli Lounge Bar as the nearest one to Pavilion, in fact, just a 10 minutes walk away. So we settled on Heli Lounge Bar (aka Helipad) for the evening ahead!
About Heli Lounge Bar Kuala Lumpur (aka Helipad)
The best time to visit Heli Lounge Bar is definitely during sunset, where it is not so hot and you’ll be able to see the beautiful sunset hues of God’s creation during this period. However, during our visit, it was very cloudy. Hence, there was not much of a sunset view but you’re still able to enjoy 360 degrees view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline from Heli Lounge Bar (aka Helipad).
Upon arrival, you’ll first head to level 34 to purchase the entry tickets and get your drinks vouchers before proceeding via stairs to level 36 where the bar (and views of Kuala Lumpur) are.
The price for entry per person was 100RM. This comes with the choice of 2 drinks which you can choose from
1. Juices (Mango, Orange)
2. Soft Drinks (Coke, Sprite)
3. Cocktails (Takeoff, Touch Down, Star Kiss, Helilusion)
4. Beers (Tiger Beer)
5. Wines (House red or white wines)
This works out to about $15SGD per drink, which is rather steep for Malaysia prices but this is Kuala Lumpur (the capital of Malaysia). Plus, the views were rather good as well…
As the “helipad” is circular, you can literally have 360 degrees views of the surroundings including iconic buildings such as Menara KL, Petronas Twin Towers as well as the Merdeka 118 Tower – the tallest building in Malaysia (or 2nd tallest in the world). This also means that you have tonnes of “instagrammable” shots with your friends while you’re here as well.
Cocktails at Heli Lounge Bar Kuala Lumpur (aka Helipad)
This time, we were able to try out all 4 cocktails from Heli Lounge Bar (Helipad KL) and although in terms of presentation, they are no where as good as PS150 or Unicorn Pub, in the taste department, they were not too bad. We particularly enjoyed Take Off and Touch Down – a nod to the flight theme at Helipad. Staff at Heli Lounge Bar are also dressed as “Captains”, adding flavour to the theme of taking off on a helicopter at “Helipad”.

Although Heli Lounge Bar has rather steep prices at 100RM per person, we still think that given the views and quality of cocktails that it offers, Helipad KL is still a rather decent venue to visit. This time, we spent approximately 2 hours, chilling, playing games and just catching up while enjoying the cool night breeze and Kuala Lumpur city skylines at Heli Lounge Bar KL (aka Helipad). The weather though does play a part on your decision whether to visit. Thankfully, it was only cloudy when we arrived and towards the end of our visit, the rain eventually came and we exited via the stairs with everyone else – in an orderly fashion. As it was a passing shower at Heli Lounge Bar, we were able to stroll back to Pavilion KL thereafter. Just in time for supper!
