Heyday Beer Co Wellington Review: Excellent Sandwiches with Craft Beers!

Heyday Beer Co Wellington Review

Heyday Beer Co was where we had our dinner after arriving at Wellington New Zealand. Kate had specially planned for our visits of craft beer joints in Wellington and Heyday Beer Co was our first stop. However, after we checked in at our AirBnb, it started to pour and the outdoor seatings were not available this evening…

After stepping into Heyday Beer Co, we found the premise to be vibrant with many patrons chilling out after work. We approached a staff and were given a seat near the fermentation tanks in the brewery…

This time, we ordered the Sunstone (American Pale Ale) as well as the Soul Cat (IPA). As for sandwiches, we chose the Stegosaurus and T Rex toasties. The bill came up to $50 or about $12 per item.

Interestingly, the toasties from Heyday Beer Co were all really good. For the Stegosaurus Toasties, the pesto and dried tomato came together perfectly, just like a spaghetti – in a sandwich form. As for the T Rex toasties, the cheese and ham were flavourful and both sandwiches were toasted to perfection – giving the light crisp texture on each bite.

At Heyday Beer Co, there are also game sets located at its entrance for guests to play. This time, we saw a couple playing Qwirkle and we wanted to join them. Unfortunately, they had reservations made for dinner and when their game ended, they left. Else, it would have been an opportunity to interact and play one of our favourite games – learnt from our time chasing Northern Lights in Yellowknife Canada.

While the beers were good, the toasties were the ones that caught our attention. Heyday Beer Co is indeed a great place to chill out and relax. If the outdoor seats are available on a beautiful evening, do choose the outdoor seatings along with the fair lights at Heyday Beer Co Wellington!
