Holy Guacamole is a Mexican restaurant located at Love Lane Penang. After our check-in at Armenian Street Heritage Hotel, we took a short walk (less than 5 minutes) to Love Lane to check out Holy Guacamole for great Mexican cuisine, drinks and live music…
About Holy Guacamole at Love Lane Penang
One of the reason why we chose to dine at Holy Guacamole this evening was because of the live music here. However, when we arrived, the seats at level 1 were already taken up. Hence, we had to be seated at level 2. Nonetheless, we saw some diners requested to be shifted down once the seats at level 1 were available.
The decorations at level 2 had elements of “Day of the Dead” with intricately drawn skulls and also cuter ones in traditional Mexican costume. UV light is also used to bring out the “glow in the dark” elements here. After being seated, we were given the menu at Holy Guacamole Penang…
Holy Guacamole Penang Menu
Holy Guacamole offers a variety of Mexican cuisine that includes soups, nachos, poppers, burgers, wings, pizza and tacos! This time we tried out two items on the menu
La Bomba Nachos (RM35)
– Corn chips topped with a layer of gooey grilled cheese with salsa and chilli con carne (beef) or pollo (chicken)
Mexico City Pizza (RM43)
– Tomato based pizza with 2-cheese blend, beef bacon and chicken. Topped with fresh guacamole, pico de gallo and lime crema.
As for drinks, we chose the signature cocktail known as:
Coronarita (RM65)
– Flavoured magarita with a Corona in it
There are also cocktails such as magarita, daiquiri, long island tea, mai tai and more. Beers, liquors, wines and other non-alcoholic beverages (juices, jarritos, soft drinks) are also available.
What We Had at Holy Guacamole Penang
Coronarita (RM65) was served shortly after our order was put in. Though it is rather expensive at 20SGD, the portion was good for two. It was essentially 3 drinks in one – 2 servings of magarita along with a bottle of Coronarita. From this perspective, the Coronarita was still worth it. Taste wise, it was rich and the bartender had a rather heavy pour which we liked 😁
The cool part about the Coronarita is that as you continue to consume this drink, more Corona gets thrown into the mix and the flavour of the drink evolves slowly, eventually to the eventual taste of the Corona. A clever drink!
Next up, the La Bomba Nachos (RM35). For this dish, the grilled cheese with chilli and beef were prepared on a hot plate and brought to the table. Once the nachos is placed on the table, the grilled cheese mixture is then drizzled over the nachos. We did not know about this “show” that was about to take place so were not able to take a video of it. Be prepared to do a short video if you order this dish!
We’ve got to say that this was arguably one of the best dish we’ve had during this Penang trip! The grilled cheese mixture was so rich and flavourful! The chili gave a nice tangy and spicy taste while the nachos remain crisp after doused in the cheese mixture. There’s also a little cheese pull when you try to separate the nacho chips from each other. Definitely a “must-order” if you’re ordering finger food at Holy Guacamole Penang!
Mexico City Pizza (RM43) was the last dish that we ordered as we figured that we should try out the “guacamole” here since we’re dining at Holy Guacamole. We did not regret this choice. This is because the pizza is actually a thin crust that is less like a doughy pizza but more like a crispy pita bread. As you can see, the ingredients are generously laid out all over the pizza with big dollops of guacamole. A huge portion was served. Hence, it’s another good finger food to be shared.

We hope you have enjoyed our review of Holy Guacamole at Penang’s Love Lane. The food is actually so good that we’d be considering another visit here if we’re to visit Penang in the future – this time, we’ll (hopefully) be seated at level 1 for the live music!
