While browsing through the Accor App, we found Hotel Faber Park Singapore to be under the same brand. This means that as Accor Gold members, we were accorded complimentary room upgrade, early check-in or late check-out as well as a welcome drink. Hence, we our anniversary this year, we decided to head over to Hotel Faber Park Singapore (Handwritten Collection) to check out its facilities as well as its offerings…
First Impressions of Hotel Faber Park Singapore Handwritten Collection
We entered the hotel at about 2:30pm because we wanted to use the Accor benefits for a late check-out the next day. Once at the reception, we were promptly checked-in, complete with our complimentary upgrade to the Deluxe Double Bedroom (from Superior Room). We also received a couple of vouchers for a welcome drink at the in-house restaurant, The White Tiffin Fusion…
During our check-in process, we were also informed by the staff that all drinks and snacks in the room were complimentary for us during this stay. Tom also informed the staff (secretly) that he’d be expecting a bouquet of flowers. If they were at the pool, they could enter to place it in the room…Soon it was time to check out our Deluxe Double Bed Room!
Hotel Faber Park Singapore Handwritten Collection – Deluxe Double Bed Room Review
Upon entry into the Deluxe Double Bed Room at Hotel Faber Park Singapore Handwritten Collection, we were pleasantly surprised and here’s why…
We were very much surprised by how beautifully appointed the entire room was. We loved all the tiles used in the room! The floor had the old school mosaic tiles that we used to see when we were kids. The blue and grey subway tiles lined the bathroom and toilet. The lightings also reminded us of another posh hotel that we stayed at – The Prestige Hotel Penang.
There were a few other small touches that we liked about the room. Besides view of the Reflections at Keppel Bay, you’d notice that you can hardly hear the lorries and cars that pass by the highway. This is because of the sound-proof windows. However, the rooms themselves are not that…soundproof. So just take note of this as you might just hear someone else’s conversation next door (or vice versa). 😅
You’ll also notice that the curtains are automated. You can press a button or if you mistakenly tug at it, it closes or opens as well. Really quite cool. Lastly, Netflix was complimentary as well. So we managed to watch quite a bit of catch-up movies (ala Money No Enough and Ah Girls Go Army by Jack Neo).
Hotel Faber Park Singapore Handwritten Collection – Roof Top Swimming Pool
As it was about to rain, we quickly went up to the rooftop swimming pool at level 6 of Hotel Faber Park Singapore. Thankfully, the rain held and we even had periods of sunshine during our swim. The rooftop swimming pool is not huge and there isn’t much space to hangout either – only 2 deck chairs and a small lounge area that probably a family can occupy. The swimming pool is not exactly an infinity pool but in the distance, you’ll be able to see the cable cars moving as well as The Reflections at Keppel Bay just across the road. It was pretty nice to soak in the pool for a little while till about 5pm. Even though it was a sunny day, there weren’t many people at the pool We deduced that most of the guests are probably on a tour group or visiting Sentosa. So in the day, it is pretty nice and quiet up here.
We returned to our room at 5pm and it was about this time that the hotel staff brought up the flowers that we ordered from a florist online, with delivery to the hotel. Uunfortunately, the petals were a little bruised but fortunately, they agreed for a delivery of a make-up. Thankful that the staff even asked whether the “coast is clear” before handing over the flowers that he had placed out of sight. Talk about a smooth delivery 😉
After chilling a little while in the room, we headed out to Shell next door to get our own “pre-dinner drinks” – 2 Kirin for $10.50. We went back up to the roof top for drinks at about 6:15pm with the complimentary in-room snacks…
It’s actually quite nice to watch the sunset from the roof top swimming pool of Hotel Faber Park Singapore. You’ll be able to see the different hues on the clouds as the sun sets over the apartments in the distance. The air was cool and breezy as well. Perfect for “sunset cocktails”. We also managed to catch glimpses of the Singapore Flag and F16 fly past as it was rehearsals for the National Day Parade.
Hotel Faber Park Singapore Handwritten Collection – Dinner and Breakfast at The White Tiffin Fusion
Hotel Faber Park Singapore’s in-house restaurant is actually a collab with The White Tiffin, named “The White Tiffin Fusion”. Having visited the other outlets of The White Tiffin, we were fairly comfortable with their food offerings and quality. Moreover, there was an ongoing deal that snagged us 9x Krisflyer Points. So we thought, why not?
After browsing through The White Tiffin Fusion Menu, we decided upon
1. Nonya Ayam Buah Keluak with Rice ($22)
(Buah keluak, whole chicken thigh, rempah – served with pickled achar, keropok and sambal belachan)
2. Nasi Lemak with Duck Confit ($20)
When we ordered, we also presented our complimentary welcome drink coupons and the waiter informed us that we could choose from Coffee/Tea or the Pineapple/Guava mocktail. Sadly, no alcoholic selections with the complimentary welcome drink unlike the other Accor hotels that we stayed at.
The other reason why we chose the 2 dishes above was that they’re not available during the lunch set menu as well. Which probably means special preparations were required. The buah keluak dish even indicated a 30 minutes waiting time! :O
We were actually quite surprised that we were the only ones having dinner this evening. Which was good for us because it seems as though we had booked the entire restaurant for our anniversary this evening. The service was therefore very attentive as well. During the meal, we found that there was a little mistake because the Duck Confit Nasi Lemak didn’t come with the blue pea rice as mentioned in the menu. Later on, another plate of blue pea rice was brought out and we had 3 plates of rice shared among the 2 of us – which was good because the Ayam Buah Keluak was SO GOOD! As it was individually prepared, we could hear the sounds in the kitchen as our food were being prepared. We love it that the buah keluak and tamarind gravy was not too viscous, unlike the other renditions we had. This allowed the rice to be covered with the delicious gravy as we paired it with the nicely infused and tender chicken thigh. Yum! The duck confit on the other hand was slightly dry. But nothing a little gravy and sambal can’t rescue this evening! 🙂
After dinner, we finished watching Money No Enough 3 and caught the England-Switzerland European Championship Match which was fairly exciting. The Swiss scored first at the 75th minute and Saka equalised at the 80th. When it went down to the penalities, only Akanji missed and the English scored all 5 of their penalties. Pretty good as we know that England had been let down by penalties previously and from the way the players prepared before they took the penalty, you could see the breathing techniques and all. Definitely well-prepared.

Breakfast Buffet at Hotel Faber Park Singapore Handwritten Collection
For breakfast at The Hotel Faber Park Singapore the next morning, it was a totally different atmosphere as compared to our dinner the previous night.
IT WAS CROWDED!
At 8am, we encountered the peak breakfast period and we almost couldn’t find a seat. Yup, it is free-seating and sort of like the wild-wild west when you’re having breakfast at this time. This is because the tour groups were having their breakfast just before they left the hotel…
The breakfast itself was not that extensive (nor was quality anything to shout about) but we did find the fried mee siam and green curry to be fairly tasty. We also found out from the lady next to us that they were about to leave the hotel for a drive up to KL. They were to be in Singapore/Malaysia for only 5 days, arriving from Shanghai the day before. Quite a rushed itinerary we think. As for the breakfast buffet spread at Faber Park Hotel Singapore Handwritten Collection…

As for the other plus of staying at Hotel Faber Park Singapore, is that you’re within walking distance to the famous Telok Blangah Crescent Market and Food Centre where we tried out the carrot cakes at Guan Seng Carrot Cake as well as the Vegetarian Bee Hoon from Su Yuan Vegetarian. Both were oh so good!
After checking-out, we took a short stroll to Harbour Front where we had Harry’s steak at 50% off (via Eatigo) as well…
All in all, we had a wonderful staycation at Hotel Faber Park Singapore. The staff were very attentive and ensured our stay was an excellent one. The hotel itself was modern and well-maintained. No complaints at all with the sparkling clean bathrooms and toilets – kudos to the housekeeping team! If you’re looking for a nice staycation at a relatively affordable price, we’d definitely recommend Hotel Faber Park Singapore for its rooftop swimming pool, close distance to nature (and Vivo City) as well as the adequate buffet breakfast that it provides. Enjoy your stay at Hotel Faber Park Singapore Handwritten Collection!
