Huka Falls Taupo Review: Beautiful Falls Opposite The Bank

Huka Falls was where we did a quick stop after visiting Hell’s Gate Mud Spa in the morning. We were heading south from Rotorua to Taupo and decided to check out Huka Falls as it is apparently quite an attraction in the Lake Taupo area.

Getting to Huka Falls Taupo

There are actually quite a few ways to get to Huka Falls. You can key into your GPS either

1. Heli Adventure Flights if you’re keen on taking a helicopter tour over Huka Falls
2. Huka Falls Jet Taupo for jet rides over the stream
3. Huka Falls Trust Kiosk or Bridge for photos over the the stream leading to Huka Falls
4. Huka Falls Lookout – where we went to have one of the best views of the falls

This time, we chose to head direct to Huka Falls Lookout to get a majestic view of the entire Huka Falls. The only issue about heading to the Huka Falls Lookout is that you’ll have to park by the gravel and take a walk down. The walk can take about 10 minutes if you’re doing a leisurely one…

Once you’re parked, head downwards towards the river and you’ll be on the correct path to see Huka Falls. As you can see from the photos above, the path can be winding downwards. Hence, it is not suitable for wheelchairs but we think it won’t be too challenging for kids.

We eventually reached the river bank and had an excellent view of the entire Huka Falls at Taupo. The lookout is located a distance away so you will be able to appreciate the enormity of the falls. We had a moment while admiring God’s creation at Huka Falls and were really glad to witness what the Lord has placed all around us as a testimony, pointing to Him.
