ICC Pudu in Kuala Lumpur is definitely a foodie’s paradise. Inside ICC Pudu, you’ll be able to find a coffeeshop as well as a hawker centre where some of the best local foods can be found! In fact, we were a little late to the party in finding this out. Apparently, throngs of tourists are visiting ICC Pudu, some even with their luggage, suggesting that many make it a point for ICC Pudu to be their first stop (or last) to enjoy some of the best hawker foods that KL has to offer…
Coffeeshop at ICC Pudu KL – Kopitiam Jia Jia Le
One of the reason that we started with Kopitiam Jia Jia Le at ICC Pudu was because on our first day here, the hawker centre was not opened! Probably due to some routine cleaning. Nonetheless, we were actually still very satisfied with what we tried on our first day here…
We were really glad to have GST travel with us this time because if we were left to our own devices, we would have ordered the soup version at Sam Kan Chong and missed out on the lardy/dark sauce goodness that the dry version offers. The fragrance of the dark soy sauce and the lard (albeit oily) was so so good, complemented with the springy kway teow. As for the wanton noodles, the char siew was definitely the star of the dish. Nicely charred to sweet perfection. The tender and fatty bits were delicious!
Scanning around the coffeeshop, we also noticed a beef noodles shop at the corner and decided to give it a try. We were thankful that we did. This is because the beef noodles was so different from what we usually have in Singapore. The beef noodles had a nice ginger/spring onion stew to it and coupled with the fragrant oil from the beef which was superbly delicious. Definitely a dish you’ve got to try. As for the beancurd, it was in the same silky smooth style that we have in Singapore. Yum!
Hawker Centre at ICC Pudu Kuala Lumpur
As the hawker centre part of ICC Pudu closed when we visited the first time, we decided to make another trip back to try out all the excellent local hawker food that ICC Pudu offers!
Well, where do we start? EVERYTHING shown above was good! Seriously!
– The char siew from the wanton noodles were so tender, exuding charcoal fragrance
– The curry Yong Tao Fu had the sweet and spicy tanginess that attracts one to have another piece (over and over again)
– The kaya butter toast was old school – probably due to the use of planter butter that we don’t usually find in SG now
– The coffee was fragrant
– The curry of the noodles was so rich
– The soup of the prawn noodles was a silky and flavourful taste that is hard to forget
– The crispy popiah was also unlike what we usually have with so much of its crispy bits, adding an unique texture to this dish
Definitely a must-visit, if nothing, for these amazing local foods that ICC Pudu offers!

From this visit, it seems that every single stall that we ordered from had exceptionally high quality local food. We slurped every single morsel of food from every single bowl/plate of local delights that we ordered this time at ICC Pudu. It is therefore not hard to imagine why ICC Pudu is a “food mecca” of sorts for tourists to Kuala Lumpur, to quickly get a (high quality) “lay of the land” of food that is iconic to Kuala Lumpur. The excellent food offerings at ICC Pudu KL is definitely not to be missed!
