Iron Nori is a Western cuisine restaurant that has 2 branches in Singapore. Previously known as the Iron Supper Club, Iron Nori is located at 9 Jalan Wangi as well as 116 Tanjong Pagar. This time, we visited the Jalan Wangi branch using the 50% discount on Eatigo. Interestingly, all slots on Eatigo are at 50% off and there’s also an ongoing promotion for takeaway at half off as well.
About Iron Nori Jalan Wangi (previously known as Iron Supper Club)
After reading the reviews on Eatigo, we found that Iron Nori is actually a social enterprise that employs staff with intellectual-disabilities, autism or learning disabilities. #SocialGood
Inside, the decor is simple with a selection of alcoholic options on display…
Iron Nori Jalan Wangi Menu
After browsing through the menu, we noticed that both the house specials were pork cuisine. The Pork Tomahawk (cooked 2 ways – $85.9) as well as the Crispy Pork Knuckle ($32.9). Hence, we ordered the pork knuckle and instead of ordering the entire Pork Tomahawk, we went with the Iberico Pork Ribeye Steak ($28.9).
What we had at Iron Nori Jalan Wangi
It didn’t take long before our order arrived. First up the Crispy Pork Knuckle at Iron Nori.
Once the Crispy Pork Knuckle was served, our first comment was – THIS IS A HUGE PORTION! The pork knuckle itself is definitely bigger than those you’d normally see at Brotzeit, Brewerkz and the likes. Secondly, there’s a whole lot of fries served on a round wooden pizza board! So much fries that we couldn’t finish but thankfully was able to ta pao the remainder home. 😅
It is usually hard to prepare a good pork knuckle. This is because you’d have to ensure the skin remains crisp while the interior is cooked, yet not overcooked which may result in a dry texture. Iron Nori’s chef seems to have grasped the technique really well. The interior was juicy while the exterior was crispy. So crisp that we were able to thinly slice the meat off the pork knuckle, together with the skin! The last time we’ve encountered such a well-prepared pork knuckle was in Munich’s Hofbrauhaus. Of course, the version at Hofbrauhaus still trumps the lot with its herb infused flavours. Nonetheless, in terms of taste, the rendition at Iron Nori was good. Easily beating the versions we’ve tried in SG.
Next up, the Iberico Pork Ribeye Steak at Iron Nori ($28.9)…
The Iberico Pork is a variety that comes with additional fats in its meat. Hence, the slightly more expensive price tagged to it. The demi glazed version at Iron Nori gave it a light sweetness, accentuated by the taste of the traditional brown sauce. When we went in for the first cut of the steak, the meat just came apart, revealing the beautiful Iberico trademarks of fatty streaks across the meat. A very satisfying mains at Iron Nori.

All in all, we were pleasantly surprised by the high level of culinary skills displayed by the chef for both the pork cuisine. Kudos to the chef and the team at Iron Nori!
With Iron Nori’s good cause and great food, we recommend everyone to come in and try out their cuisine. In fact, we’re so impressed that we’d probably be back to try out other popular dishes such as the signature softshell crab spaghetti as well as the Pork Tomahawk – dishes that have piqued our interest.
