During our visit to Disneyland Anaheim (Dole Whip!), we took a detour to visit Joshua Tree National Park. When we arrived at the visitor center, we were informed by the ranger that due to the rain (it probably rains a couple of days a year in JTNP), there was a high probability of spotting desert tortoise on the roads. They would head to the roads (with puddles) to stock up on supplies.
Unfortunately, we were not able spot the tortoise, we were able to very much enjoy the cactus and formation in Joshua Tree National Park!
The 2 main highlights during this short detour were the Arch Rock Nature Trail (to see the Arch) as well as the Cholla Cactus Garden. Although we did not head over to the area with more Joshua Tree, we managed to capture a Joshua Tree right in the middle of our panorama shot at Arch Rock Nature Trail.
