One of the cool thing about staying at Resorts World Langkawi is that it is located right next to harbour where cruise ships head to and also for the purpose of this post, where we headed to for our island hopping off Langkawi. This is really convenient for guests like us who were staying at Resorts World Langkawi.

Langkawi Island Hopping from Resorts World Langkawi
The island hopping from Resorts World Langkawi costs 50RM (~$15 SGD) per person for a 3 hours trip. In the morning of our trip, it was actually raining quite heavily, so despite having 2 trips at 9:30am and 2:30pm each day, we missed the morning trip and made reservations for the 2:30pm trip instead.
At about 2:25pm, we were led by our boat captain to our boat and soon we were off for our island hopping off Langkawi!
Pregnant Maiden Langkawi

Our “first stop” was to visit an usual island formation, known as the Pregnant Maiden off Langkawi. As you can see from the photo above you may notice the head of a lady lying down to the right and if you follow the contours, you’ll also notice a little “tummy bump” that resembles that of a pregnant lady. This is why the name “Pregnant Maiden” came up. This wasn’t really a “stop” per se because it was a view taken off the waters and after some photo taking, we were off to our next stop, the Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park…

Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park

We arrived at Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park and the Captain told us that we would be given 1 hour to explore the island. Following the path, we came to the ticketing booth where we had to pay 6RM for entry tickets.

Within, there is actually a fresh water lake known as the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden, or locally as Tasik Dayang Bunting…

There are a few activities that you can do here such as taking a dip in the freshwater lake or just rent a canoe and go exploring various parts of the lake. For us, we just found a spot and dipped our feet into the cool waters while watching others enjoying themselves under the balmy sunshine.

After chilling out for about 30 minutes, we started to make our way back to the jetty. Since we were still a little early, we decided to get a beef burger for 12RM – made in the Ramly-style burger…

We were able to see that the chef was actually quite skilled in thinning out the egg, wrapping the beef patty in the egg, before lathering with sweet chili and mayonnaise sauce. Pretty good rendition we must say. Soon, we returned to our boat – which we recognised as the only “red top” boat. Yup, do find a way to remember your boat so that you can join back the correct boat as there would be many of them here!
Eagle Feeding Point
The next stop was an Eagle Feeding Point near Langkawi island…
Watch on TikTok
We were actually surprised to know that the boats that came over were feeding CHICKEN SKINS to the eagles! How in the world did they know that eagles like to eat chicken skins? During this time (as you can see from the video), you’ll find the eagles swooping down to pick up the chicken skins from the surface of the waters. Then, we thought about it, perhaps that’s why.
That the chicken skin would float on the surface of the waters, would make it easy for the eagles to spot and pick up the food. Either way, it was an experience to see so many eagles hanging over the boats while coming down one by one after the chicken skins were thrown over the waters.
Beras Basah Island

At about 4:10pm, we reached our last stop the Beras Basah Island where there’s a nice little beach. Ashore, there was supposed to be other food stalls but when we reached there, they were mostly closed…

Here, we took the time to dip in the pool, enjoy the swings and pretty much chill by the beaches of Beras Basah island…

Conclusion
All in all, it was a fun day out doing the Langkawi Island Hopping. For 50RM (at RWL) or 40RM (at jetties), the price is relatively affordable for you to check out some of these other off-shore islands and even come close to the eagles at Eagles Feeding Point!
