Langkawi was where we spent a week for a trip of rejuvenation and basically chilling out by the hotel pools. For this trip to Langkawi, we were able to snag a pair of tickets on Scoot for $215.52. The flight departed at 1:30pm and arrived at about 3:45pm, which gave us some time to chill out at the lounges prior to our flight.

Chilling out at Changi Airport Priority Pass Lounges and Restaurants
At Changi Airport, if you’re travelling via Scoot, you’ll be able to get your boarding pass via the Jewel early check-in machines between 3 to 18 hours prior to the flight (Jewel early check-in details here). It was quite a breeze and we were able to get our boarding pass which allowed us to do some lounge hopping prior to our flight…
Chutney Mary Indian Fast Food T2 Landside

We headed first to Chutney Mary Indian Fast Food restaurant, located at the landside of Changi Airport Terminal 2. As it was still before the lunch hours, butter chicken was not available. However, we were still able to enjoy the Special Masala Dosa set which was pretty good. The Thosai (or Dosa) was crisp, loaded with cheese and potato masala fillings. Who knew that cheese went so well with masala?
Terrace Chinese Kitchen T1 Landside

Likewise at Terrace Chinese Kitchen (Landside Terminal 1), it was still the breakfast menu as well. We went with 2 bowls of noodles. One, the familiar HK style egg noodles with luncheon meat – which was a little too salty. The other, a bowl of braised pork meat dry noodles which was quite delicious. Somehow the noodles itself was quite delicious too. We found out that they used Nissan Chu Qian Yi Ding noodles but somehow, it tastes so much better than how we do it at home. Yum!
Asian Street Kitchen T2 Airside

Once on the airside, we headed over to Asian Street Kitchen for some Red Dot craft beers and one of the most delicious snacks airside – the Thai Moo Ping. We also tried the A.S.K Kaya and Butter Toast but of course, they weren’t that crisp and can’t really compare with Ya Kun at this stage. The kaya and butter were good though.
Arriving at Langkawi International Airport

The flight from Singapore to Langkawi was 1.5 hours. Before long, we arrived at Langkawi International Airport where we cleared customs very quickly. Thereafter, we checked out the Plaza Premium Lounge at Langkawi, which is located on the landside…

Despite being a relatively small lounge, the Plaza Premium Lounge at Langkawi Airport will be able to fill you up with hot food selections, including a menu of cook-on-order meals. Our favourite from this list was the spaghetti. Cheesy and tomatoey. Shiok. There was also a small selection of snacks and desserts which went with the coffee and tea available. Carlsberg was the only alcoholic selection this time.
The Grab ride from Langkawi International Airport to Resorts World Langkawi took about 20 minutes and was about 15.5RM (reduced from a peak of 27RM when all the guests arrived). Our stay at Resorts World Langkawi cost about $60 SGD…

Arriving at Resorts World Langkawi (RWL)

The check-in process at Resorts World Langkawi was pretty smooth (read full review of Resorts World Langkawi here). We were able to find out from the reception that
1. Breakfast costs 40RM per person but if you book it the day before, it would be 5RM cheaper at 35RM per person.
2. There’s a 3 hours island hopping trip that departs from RWL, twice a day at 9:30am and 2:30pm at 50RM per person.
3. There’s also Impiana Reflexology and Spa that gives varying discounts for guests (from 30% to 50%)

Although the walk to our Standard Sea View Room was a short walk away, it does have some great views from our window. One thing we like about Resorts World Langkawi is that it is surrounded by small islands so you’ll be able to get a mix of sea and island views. The board walk right by the hotel is also great for evening strolls by the waters too.

Our favourite part of the hotel was definitely the infinity pool at Resorts World Langkawi. To be clear, there are 2 swimming pools. One on the inside of the hotel for kids to waddle in. The other one, the infinity pool that faces the Andaman Sea as well as the surrounding islands. We were also able to get some drinks from Villa Rossi, the bar next to the infinity pool. We had beers for 12RM and wines for 10RM which were relatively affordable. In the evenings, fairy lights came on which lit up the board walk. Magic!
