Langkawi Sky Bridge was where we visited on day 3 of our travels in Langkawi. Being one of the biggest attraction in Langkawi and boasting to be the longest free span and curved bridge in the world, Langkawi Sky Bridge has been on our to-do list since the start of the trip. Unfortunately for us, the weather was a little misty when we visited. Nonetheless, visiting on a misty day does have the “mystic” feel about it as well. Also, the other peripheral attractions that came as part of the ticket price were not too bad as well. Hence, overall, a great day out to Langkawi Sky Bridge.
Arriving at Oriental Village SkyBridge Langkawi

This morning, we actually checked out from Resorts World Langkawi and headed over to our next hotel – Dash Resort Langkawi for 4RM. From there, it was a 22RM Grab ride to SkyBridge Langkawi.
Upon arrival at Oriental Village at 9am, we were still a little early as the SkyBridge was to only open at 9:30am. This actually gave us time to take some nice photos within the Oriental Village, with the peak at SkyBridge as the background. Hence, if you’re visiting SkyBridge Langkawi, you may want to consider arriving slightly earlier to take one of those “nobody”/instagrammable shot as well.

Operation Time at SkyBridge
SkyCab
930am to 6pm / 9am to 6:30pm (PH)
SkyBridge
10am to 5:30pm (Nature Walk) / 10am to 6pm (SkyGlide)
So before we go into the details, there are couple of “terms” that you’d have to know before deciding which combo to purchase and they are
SkyCab: SkyCab is the cable car ride that covers 3 stations. It will bring you from the Oriental Village to a second stop at Eagle’s Nest Skywalk and finally a third stop at SkyBridge (Nature Walk)
SkyBridge (Nature Walk): Now, we have to define a second term, the SkyBridge (Nature Walk). In reality, when you eventually reach the final stop at SkyBridge, you don’t actually reach the SkyBridge yet. You will have to take a 10 minutes walk up and down some stairs that will eventually take you to SkyBridge. The walk is not particularly difficult. If you do it slowly, most adults would be able to navigate it. Note that the Nature Walk is not Wheelchair-friendly. Therefore, if walking is a problem for someone in your party, your best bet would be to take the SkyGlide.
SkyGlide: As what we have alluded to in the previous definition, the SkyGlide is actually the final transfer that takes you from the last SkyBridge (Nature Walk) to SkyBridge itself – for those who can’t navigate the stairs up and down Nature Walk. Also, strangely, you cannot buy tickets for the SkyGlide at the Oriental Village. You can only buy it at the SkyBridge (Nature Walk) stop for 16RM per person.

So before we arrived, Tom actually had a stupid thought that “perhaps we can walk all the way up to SkyBridge? That would be like a good morning exercise wouldn’t it?”
BEH! WRONG!
There is actually no walkway up eventhough the path above, does look like there is, there really isn’t. So nope, you cannot walk up to SkyBridge Langkawi.

Having explained all of the above, we can now (finally!) talk about the entry prices to SkyBridge!

Firstly, the bigger prices are meant for International visitors (or tourists) while the smaller prices are meant for locals.
Secondly, you really cannot just purchase the SkyCab ride up to SkyBridge because they have bundled up the other attractions such as SkyDome, SkyRex and 3D Art Langkawi.
Therefore, in reality, if you are a tourist, the cheapest ticket price you’ll have to pay is
89RM for adults
68RM for adults
which includes the SkyCab, SkyDome, SkyRex and 3D Art Langkawi as well as the Nature Walk to Sky Bridge. This translates to about $30 SGD which is still not too bad because of the other attractions that you can visit after heading up to SkyBridge.
As for the other prices, they are variations that include visits to Machinchang Petland, Eagle’s Nest Skywalk or the 6D Cinemotion.
After settling on the 89RM tickets, it was time to take the SkyCab up to SkyBridge. As you can see from the video, the climb up can be rather steep, especially between the stops of Eagle’s Nest Skywalk (2nd Stop) and SkyBridge (Nature Walk – the 3rd and last stop). Also, during our visit, it was getting misty as we went up the slopes. After Eagle’s Nest Skywalk, it was virtually “white-out” for a while…

Once you’re at the last stop, you’ll have the option to either do the nature walk (which we did) or take the SkyGlide (16RM) which takes you up to SkyBridge. At this area, there are 2 viewing decks, which, on a clear day, will afford some fantastic views as well. Since it was misty and we couldn’t see much here, we decided to take the 10 minutes nature walk to SkyBridge. Do note that while this walk is not that difficult, it does require climbing up and down flights of stairs. Hence, it would not be suitable for the elderly and the physically challenged. At the viewing decks, we also noticed the Sky Bistro, which we were to return after the hike to SkyBridge.

The nature walk took us about 10 minutes and we eventually arrived at the Sky Bridge. Despite the misty weather, there were times when the wind blew the mist away and we had some clear views out to sea for a short moment. Also, while you’re on the bridge, the wind and mist also “moisturised” our faces – a cooling and refreshing experience. We lingered on the bridge for a while since it was cooling. We also found that the bridge had some panels that allowed you to “see through” all the way down to the forest below – ala “Fear Factor”. There was a photographer at the beginning of the bridge that took photos as visitors started their walk across the bridge.

After taking the views at the top, we walked back along the nature walk and visited the SkyBistro. We took the inside seats and ordered the Iced Latte (18RM), Almond Croissant (16RM) as well as the Beef Burger with Home Made Patty (25RM). Surprisingly, the beef patty was really good. Beefy, rich and flavourful – patty made with real beef. Shiok! Inside SkyBistro, the interior decorations was very aesthetically pleasing and the use of gears from the cable cars within, also enhanced the overall atmosphere.
We also took the window seats with comfy seats where we were able to enjoy the views. Of course, only when the mist cleared. But when it does clear, we were treated to great views out to sea for a short moment in time. After our meal, we headed back to the Oriental Village where we found the crowds to be building up…

We then continued to visit the other attractions that was part of the tickets to Sky Bridge:
SkyDome

SkyDome actually shows a movie of how Boboiboy saves the world with his friends – all with some form of superpower. As for the storyline, we won’t talk more about it except that because of the shape of the dome, you’ll be able to see a continuous animation all around you which was quite cool. The movie takes about 10 minutes.
SkyRex

SkyRex, as the name suggests is a 3D movie that shows, you’ve guessed it, dinosaurs! You’ll be seated in a “tour carriage” that brings you through a dinosaur park – yeah, somehow reminded us of Jurassic Park. The dinosaurs are somehow let loose and mayhem ensues. The ride can be a little bumpy (yet super thrilling!), so it may not be suitable for those with heart conditions or young children. Surprisingly, we enjoyed this ride quite alot because of its realism, the movement of the carriage as well as the 3D animation. Enjoy!
3D Art Museum Langkawi

Touted as the largest 3D Art Museum in Malaysia, 3D Art Langkawi is a really fun 3D illusionary museum where you can find art that you can interact with and show that you’re actually part of the art. In Singapore, that would be the Trickeye Museum just that here in Langkawi, you’ll be able to interact with HUGE 3D artworks…

There are actually pretty realistic artwork at 3D Art Langkawi. The key is to follow the instructions and photo examples on the floor and you’ll be able to capture very amazing trickeye photos. For instance, one of our favourites was the artwork where you seem as though you’re trapped in jar. You’ll have to stretch out your hand with your palm flat as though you’re pressing against the wall of the jar. Pretty good photo. It was also here, we met up with Kamal and his wife. A couple from Morocco whom we met at the ticketing counter earlier. Hopefully, we’ll be able to catch up in Morocco next year!
Checking out Dash Resort Langkawi

The Grab ride from SkyBridge back to Dash Resort Langkawi was 24RM. By the time we returned, our room Superior King Room was ready. At $160RM a night, it was a little expensive but breakfast was included…

We also took some time to check out the facilities at Dash Resort Langkawi, especially the gym and pool area…

The gym was located quite near to our room and it allowed us to replenish some water, especially when we usually don’t have housekeeping during short stays. The swimming pool was definitely the highlight for us. Situated at the center of the Dash Resort Langkawi, the Dash Beach Club (as well as its audio) surrounds the pool and at the edge of the pool, the infinity pool (with fish tank glass) overlooks the Andaman Sea…

We got a couple of glasses of 1664 Blanc (15RM each) as well as a Pina Colada cocktail (29RM) at the swimming pool bar of Dash Resort Langkawi till sunset. We ordered some food via Grab and we walked along the beach after sunset at 7pm. The beautiful purplish hues in the skies greeted us again. Thank the Lord for His beautiful creations!

It was also low tide but the waters still came up and covered a part of the beach which created a reflection. As you can see from the photo, the purplish hues from the skies also reflected on the waters below. God’s creation is simply beautiful!

For dinner, we ordered Grab Food from a local restaurant and by the time we returned from the walk by the beach, the food was ready for collection at the hotel’s lobby. This time, we ordered Stir Fried Beef (28 RM), Lemon Chicken (18 RM), Sambal Kang Kong (13 RM) and Egg Fried Rice (13 RM). All of the dishes were really good and had that nice smoky wok hei flavours. Maybe the only exception was the chicken, which was, strangely, a little too tender. No tummy aches though.
Tom watched Matt Damon’s The Great Wall, which was so good – reminded us about meeting him at Marhaba Lounge T2 last year.
Stay tuned as we check out the breakfast offerings at Dash Resort Langkawi as well as the other attractions at Kuah Town Langkawi!
