Have you ever wondered how you can enjoy the views from the top of Marina Bay Sands (MBS) without having to pay for the $23 entrance fees to the Sands Sky Park Observation Deck? One of the most affordable option would be to head to Lavo Italian Restaurant for a meal. In this Lavo Italian Restaurant (& Rooftop Bar) review, we’ll show you one of the best (and most affordable) ways to head up to the top of Marina Bay Sands and enjoy views like this…
Best Views from Marina Bay Sands Option 1: 3 Course Lunch Set at Lavo Italian Restaurant for $38++
Restaurants at the top of Marina Bay Sands such as CÉ LA VI Restaurant and Skybar as well as Spago Dining Room offer their own lunch time set menu. However, we found that at $38++, Lavo offers the most affordable lunch time set menu option as compared to CÉ LA VI ($55++) and Spago ($45++) for a 3 course menu. The $38++ translates to $45 nett. This also means that for $22 more, you’ll get a view and a meal as compared to the option of heading over to the skypark observation deck ($23).
Only 1 gripe we have with this option. The portion is really quite small. Check out what we had for the appetizer, mains and dessert…
The menu is really accurate when it described its dessert as “New York Cheesecake Bite”. You can literally finish the square-shaped cheesecake – in one bite. Nonetheless, while the portion was small, we thoroughly enjoyed the freshness of the scallops. Our eyes lighted up on the first bite. Yum!
Best Views from Marina Bay Sands Option 2: The “Meatball” at Lavo Italian Restaurant for $38++
The second option, is literally half the price of the first option. You can also order the signature dish from Lavo. Also known as “The Meatball“, it contains 1lb of fresh ground imperial wagyu, veal, italian sausage, served with fresh whipped ricotta. As it’s 1 pound of meat, it is good for 2 to share.
With this option, you’ll pay $45 for 2 person (inclusive of tax). Which means, it will be $1 cheaper than if 2 people were to head to the Sands Skypark. Plus, you’ll get a HUGE portion of meatball for 2 to share. Moreover, we were quite impressed with the presentation and taste of this dish. Luscious coating of marinara sauce topped with ricotta on the outside and tender juicy meats on the inside. Definitely an option to consider if your main objective is to head up to Marina Bay Sands and enjoy the views that it offers.
Best Views from Marina Bay Sands Option 3: 20 Layer Chocolate Cake (with 2 Lattes) at Lavo Italian Restaurant for $38++
The third option that we’d recommend is to head over for a tea-time indulgence over a 20 Layer Chocolate Cake. The cake itself costs $24 while a cup of latte costs $7. Hence, the cost would be the same as the “Meatball” option above. However, if you’re thinking of enjoying a leisurely afternoon over coffee and cake, this would be the perfect option. Check out the size of this cake…
The 20 Layer Chocolate Cake is described as “Chocolate Devil’s Food Cake, Peanut Butter Mascarpone“. The alternate layer of chocolate and peanut butter was simply delectable. Moreover, given the size, its almost impossible for 2 people to finish one slice. The waitress who served us even mentioned at the onset that takeaway option is available if we’re not able to finish the cake.
