During our recent trip to JB, we decided to visit Paradigm Mall where we stumbled upon a new joint – Manzanita Patisserie & Boulangerie…
About Manzanita Patisserie & Boulangerie
The interior decorations were actually the main draw for us at first. The high ceilings, comfortable seats as well as the colour scheme (Kate’s favourite) drew us over, even before Manzanita Patisserie was open…
Speaking of the comfortable seats, we were also checking out other cafes in Paradigm Mall (JB) and we found Manzanita to be only one of the few with either cushioned seats or sofa seats like the one that we sat at. Another reason why we decided to Manzanita Paradigm Mall this morning.
Inside Manzanita Patisserie & Boulangerie (Paradigm Mall JB), you’ll be able to also find a good choice of pastries, cookies and cakes. Besides dining in, you’ll also be able to find some gifts to bring back for friends in SG. If you’re dining in, you’ll be able to enjoy some great brunch options such as Poached Egg with Bacon, Classic Shashuka with Sourdough as well as Manzanita’s Signature Big Breakfast.
What We Had at Manzanita Patisserie & Boulangerie Paradigm Mall Johor
Instead of trying out the brunch options, we decided to try out the classics of croissants and latte at Manzanita Patisserie. This time, we ordered the
1. Signature Kaya Croissant (9.50RM)
2. Ham and Cheese Croissant (9.50RM)
3. Latte (11.80RM)
4. Iced Matcha Latte (11.80RM)
The total, inclusive of SST and Service Charge came up to ~$43 or $12.50SGD and here’s our review of these items…
First off, we must say that their croissant is really pretty good. The outer crust was flaky and the taste was buttery. Definitely in the top standards of croissants – comparable to Tiong Bahru Bakery, just that the size is a little smaller.
As for the taste of the ingredients, we actually love both options. The ham and cheese came together nicely where the cheese actually elevated the flavours of the croissants. On the other hand, we can understand why the kaya croissant is the signature croissant. Nanyang flavours of kaya and butter paired with the humble french croissant. An ingenious fusion.

The drinks on the hand were just ok. Not the gourmet type that we were expecting – just the hotel lounge machine standards here. Nonetheless, if you as us whether we’d be back, we would. Coupled with the comfortable seats, nice ambience, great service and delicious croissants, Manzanita Patisserie & Boulangerie at Paradigm Mall would be a great venue to chill with friends for an afternoon tea break before resuming activities in the evening ahead!
