Medieval Times Orlando was where we headed to for our first ever Medieval Times Dinner & Show! Thanks to the great folks at Visit Orlando and Medieval Times (big shout-out to Cory & Nicole), we were treated to a night of knights, horsemanship and weaponry!
About Medieval Times Orlando
Medieval Times is a show that brings you back to the age of knights, jousting and weaponry. The show includes a dinner where, you’ll eat with your bare hands. Nope, there were no fork and knives back in the days of the round table. At the Orlando Castle, there was only 1 show time at 7pm. Guests are encouraged to arrive at 6pm to enjoy the Medieval Life & Museum as well as the Castle Halls prior to the show. That we did and here are some interesting artifacts that we saw…
There were several exhibits that actually survived the medieval times. For instance, the loom machine on display was 800 years old! There was also an old latin book that was encased on display as well. The other room that might of interest to you would the torture room…enter at your own risk…
Medieval Times Orlando Castle: Dinner & Show
After collecting our tickets, we were greeted by a couple of ladies dressed in medieval clothings. They addressed us as “MiLord” and “MiLady” before handing over to us yellow crowns to wear. The colour is indicative of the zone that you would be seated and thus the knight that you would be cheering for. Tonight, we’ll be cheering for the Yellow Knight!
Before the start of the show, there was a knighting ceremony that took place. A little boy was knighted that evening! Thereafter, the King’s royal trumpeters announced for guests at the various zones to enter. Soon, it was time to be introduced to our knight of the evening – Yellow Knight!
The show revolves around a competition between 6 knights. The winner would win bragging rights and perhaps even win the hand of the princess. However, mid-way through the show, a villain appeared and the king had to send his best knight to confront the villain. But before we go further, we’ll have to check out the food, don’t we?
Since we’re now in a medieval castle, watching a medieval knight’s competition, surely we’ll have to dine the medieval way right? And that we did! Kate and I plowed through the half roasted chicken, baked potato, sweet corn and even the desserts, all with our bare hands! Barbaric eh?
To make the dinner more exciting, our knight actually lost the first couple of competition but managed to reach the final round and won! Although we knew that the knights were also “actors”, it felt so real and exciting! Could be due to the fact that we had just eaten a whole chicken (between the both of us) with our bare hands! *Argh* The chicken by the way, was tender and juicy. Yum!
As our knight won, he was picked by the king to confront the evil villain. Did he win? Find out in the video below!

We hope you have enjoyed our coverage of Medieval Times Orlando! We actually did not believe that we would have such an enjoyable time cheering on our knight, jeering at the villain and eating like barbarians. If you had looked closely at the video above, sparks actually flew when the knights engaged each other, adding realism to their fights.
Beware folks, the show at Medieval Times Orlando Castle can be rather addictive! You might find yourself coming back for more sword-wielding action in the near future!
