Melt Cafe Buffet at Mandarin Oriental was where we headed next for a free-flow lobster buffet dinner. Following our visit to Colony at Ritz Carlton, we wanted to make a comparison to see which buffet was a better deal…
Melt Cafe is located within Mandarin Oriental Hotel Singapore. Once you’ve entered the lobby, head to level 3 via the lifts. Once you exit, you’ll be able to see Melt Cafe’s entrance quite prominently.

Here’s the menu of Melt Cafe Buffet Dinner…
Before heading over to Melt Cafe, we “stalked” the menu and found where we would be heading to…the seafood section for the free-flow Boston Lobsters of course. However, the alfresco BBQ section also caught our eye. Needless to say, a meal at Melt Cafe would not be complete without the Signature Melt Chocolate Cake.

The Buffet Spread at Melt Cafe (Mandarin Oriental Singapore)
Before we tucked in, we did a scout around the buffet lines to find out what’s in store and here’s what was available during our visit this evening at Melt Cafe…
Our first impressions were that there were so many options to choose from! If you’re zooming in on the lobsters, do not worry because unlike some buffet that do not stock up immediately, the staff at Melt Cafe conscientiously tops up the seafood section. The cheese section also attracted us with its wide selection of cheeses. The meat sections of beef, lamb, Atlantic Salmon and roasted meats were what we wanted to try out as well…
What We Had at Melt Cafe Dinner Buffet (Mandarin Oriental Singapore)
First off, the lobsters were sooo succulent! We actually wanted to order a bowl of laksa and line it up with lobsters to become a DIY lobster laksa. Unfortunately, as it was the chocolate themed dinner that evening, laksa was not available. Nonetheless, we did have a DIY lobster pasta which was sooooo shiok! The other items that we’d strongly recommend are the roasted chicken and roasted pork. They’re of “atas Chinese restaurant” quality. The skins of both meats were so crisp and the meats still tender and juicy. Lastly, you must not miss the Signature Melt Chocolate Cake. Rich and decadent. A perfect end to a meal. Remember to order a cuppa to go with a large slice. FYI, you can cut your own slice of the cake – so go for a big one! 😋

If we were to compare with Colony from Ritz Carlton, we’d say that in the taste department but were just as good. The roasted meats and signature chocolate cake from Melt Cafe were awesome but Colony’s truffle Boston Lobster was presented in a classy manner. But for the same price, we’d probably head to Ritz Carlton’s Colony again because of the ambience. A really nice venue to hang out and catch up with friends over some great food and drinks.
