Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang has an excellent location within minutes of Cenang Beach in Langkawi. Although Mercure Langkawi is not right by Cenang Beach, it is less than a 5 minutes walk away to Cenang Beach, Cenang Plaza and Cenang Mall. Very convenient indeed. For us, another added perk is because of our Accor Gold status, we were given an upgrade to Junior Suite at Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang! First Impressions of Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang

Our first impressions of Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang was pretty good. The lobby was spacious and it leads by the pool bar to the swimming pool. The ceilings of the pool bar is high, giving the lobby a little grandeur as well…

As we arrived at about 12pm, our room was actually not yet ready. Hence, we went ahead with enjoying our welcome drink at the pool bar (99 Islands Bar) of Mercure Langkawi. During this wait, something funky happened. There was a very strong wave of sewage smell that passed through the lobby all the way to the swimming pool. After 2 minutes, the smell had not yet subside. So we shifted closer to the swimming pool. Other guests soon followed. At about 1:30pm, the room was ready and we took the lift to level 8 of our room – the highest level of Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang where the Junior Suites were located…
Junior Suite of Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang

Upon entry into the Junior Suite of Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang, we could feel the luxury of space in the room. You’d walk past a small foyer before walking past the wardrobe and entering into the living space and bedroom area. Next to the bedroom, there is a large bathroom that extends all the way to the end where a rainshower awaits. The rainshower has a layer of laminate stuck across the glass, preventing people in the streets from seeing you while you bathe. However, in the evenings, if you switch on the lights and its dark outside, tourists in the main streets may notice your silhouette as you shower. Something for you to note
As you walk further past the King-Sized bed, you’ll arrive at the balcony with expansive views all the way out to Andaman Sea…

This is where the real value of this room lies. In the evenings, you’ll get beautiful sunsets right at the room and in the day, different shades of blue greet you as the sun shimmers over the waters. Definitely one of the best rooms along Cenang beach we’d say.

We also noticed that the staff were really attentive as well. Tom had placed a note about Kate’s birthday in our reservation and it was noted by the receptionist when we arrived. There was a quiet nod from the receptionist. The next thing we knew, not long after we entered our Junior Suite at Mercure Langkawi, a cake with the words “Happy Birthday” was delivered. Great service here!
Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang Facilities
Swimming Pool

Unlike the swimming pool of Dash Resort and Riyaz Langkawi, the swimming pool of Mercure Langkawi is hemmed in and surrounded by the blocks of the hotel. There’s a shallower side of the swimming pool for the kids and the deeper ends for adults. There is a small water feature that segregates these 2 areas. This was also where we had our cocktails by the pool. A magarita that we had for only 12RM due to the promotion at the hotel. This was also the cheapest cocktail we’ve come across in Langkawi during this trip.
Gym

There is also a relatively well-equipped and spacious gym at Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang. If you intend to keep fit during your travels in Langkawi, it is enough to meet those needs.
Alun-Alun Spa

At level 2 of Mercure Langkawi is where you’ll find a branch of Alun Alun Spa. We browsed through the spa manu and found that the treatments were relatively expensive at about 200RM per hour. This translates to about $65 SGD which is quite expensive for Langkawi, especially given that the setup is rather make-shift, rooms segregated only by curtains.
Rice Garden Restaurant

Rice Garden Restaurant is the in-house restaurant of Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang. It is also here where the daily breakfast buffet is served.

In all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang. The Junior Suite was clean, spacious and had an amazing view all the way out to Cenang Beach and Andaman Sea. The location is superb, just mere minutes walk to Cenang Mall, Cenang Plaza and Cenang Beach. There’s a nice pool with pool bar and one of the cheapest cocktails we’ve seen as well as great service by the staff at Mercure Langkawi. If you’re looking for a hotel in the midst of all the action at Cenang Beach, Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang would rank highly on this list!
