After our terrible visit involving Grab rides in Batam, we decided then that it was #batamnomore. However, as things turned out, we did have to return to Batam again to attend a wedding. Hence, we took the opportunity to cover Montigo Resorts Nongsa Batam’s Premier Villa!

Montigo Resorts Batam Review
After alighting from the Nongsapura Ferry Terminal, it was only a short 10 minutes drive before we arrived at Montigo Resorts Batam. Thankfully we were picked up by the hotel’s shuttle transfer – no need to contend with the grab/private car transfers 😅
Before heading to Montigo Batam, we heard about the exhorbitant prices of the “villa rooms” there. It was touted to have sea views and private pools in every villa within the hotel. As we alighted, we were greeted by the views from the entrance of the resort – there, we knew it was going to be something a little different…
Although our room was not ready then, we were served welcome drinks to cool down from the heat of the day. A glass of refreshing lemon grass drink. Soon, our room – a Premier Villa, was ready! With views like that at the lobby, we were eager to check out the room!
Montigo Resorts Nongsa Batam Premier Villa Review
First impressions? The room was HUGE and the views were as they touted to be, and then some…
As we entered the room, we were greeted by a king-sized bed, facing a HUGE TV – we’re guessing 60″? This led to a living space with a full sofa that overlooked the swimming pool. Yes, an attached, private swimming pool! There’s also a longitudal bathroom with rain showers and of course, a HUGE bath tub. The type that comfortably accommodates 2. Reminded us of another HUGE bath tub we encountered at De Sarann Villa in Siem Reap. Of course, this bath tub at Montigo Batam offers amazing sea views as well…
Speaking of views from a bath tub, Hilton Busan and Konansou Mount Fuji comes to mind…
Stepping out into the pool deck, you’ll be greeted by the infinity pool and sea views – as promised…
Now, we understood why the room costs an arm and a leg. The room was spacious. There’s a private infinity pool. Huge bathroom and bathtub. And of course, the unblocked sea views. As advertised. No gimmicks at all here. Just by the size and what the room offered, we were starting to think that the room did indeed justify the price itself. Soon, it was time to check out the other facilities at Montigo Resorts Nongsa Batam…

Montigo Resorts Nongsa Batam Facilities Review
To get around the resort, you will have to call for a buggy. If you’re staying at the other end of the resort (where we were), you’d have to walk 20 minutes to reach the swimming pool. That’s how huge the premise of Montigo Resorts Nongsa Batam is. To get a buggy, you’ll just have to call the reception and they’ll have one arranged for you. The time norm is about 10 minutes before the buggy reaches your villa. The buggy ride from our villa to the main swimming pool took about 3 minutes.
Next to the pool is Tiigo Beach Club, where we had a Rendang Pizza for 145000 IDR (~15SGD) – between laps by the pool and sun tans on the pool deck. Nearby, you’ll also find Tadd’s Restaurant, where you’ll be served buffet breakfast from 7 to 10am daily. There’s also a bridge that takes you a little further out to sea, a jetty of sorts. However, since the collapse of this bridge at Montigo Nongsa Batam in late 2019, we’re not sure if it’s still a picturesque spot for guests to take one those instagrammable shots.
