Contrary to what the name suggests, Moonlight Sky Bar is actually a great venue for rooftop views around Hanoi. However, do note that Moonlight Sky Bar only opens from 5pm to midnight daily. This means that during the winter months, you’ll have to be there right when it opens to enjoy daylight over the city as sun sets at around 5:30pm, soon after Moonlight Sky Bar opens. Hm…maybe that’s the reason for the name…🤔

Excellent Views from Moonlight Sky Bar Hanoi
There are 2 levels to Moonlight Sky Bar. The first level is where most of the seats are located and is also where the bar is as well. The second level is our favourite and it is here where you can get unparalleled views of Hanoi City. The entire bar is open-air which is great for summers but can be a little chilly during winter months. However, they do have patio heaters available which helps to keep guests warm while enjoying the live music in the evenings.
One of the views that we particularly enjoyed was that of Cau Chuong Duong bridge. It is a beautiful trussel bridge that connects Hanoi Old Quarter to the Lam Du side, across the Red River to the east.

Moonlight Sky Bar Hanoi Instagrammable Spots
The other thing we enjoyed about visiting Moonlight Sky Bar are the instagrammable spots there. In the evenings, the bar is litted up with fairy lights which ladies would enjoy taking photos during the day. For us, the mini remake of the trussel bridge at Cau Chuong Duong is another highlight for us. If you take the shot at certain angles, you should be able to get both the mini and real Cau Chuong Duong bridge in the same picture.

Drinks at Moonlight Sky Bar Hanoi
However, the drinks at Moonlight Sky Bar are rather expensive. For instance, we had the Old Quarter cocktail which costs 250K (or $15SGD) and the local beer for 120K ($8SGD) which are pretty expensive for local standards. However, we think that you’re paying for the views and the ambience at Moonlight Sky Bar. Hence, the price. There’s also live band performance every Friday night from 830pm to 10pm which makes it a nice evening out under the open skies.
