On Day 2 of our New Zealand Travel Itinerary, we arrived in Auckland after flying on SQ Business Class from Singapore to Auckland…
After arriving at Auckland airport, we took a short walk over to the car rental counters where we picked up our car from Avis to drive south to Hamilton…
After arriving at Hamilton, we headed first to our AirBnB in Hamilton – a cute little apartment with an attached bathroom, TV and a small kichenette…
Upon arrival, we used the code provided by our host to unlock and retrieve our key. Inside, we had everything we needed. There was TV, a fridge, an oven (perfect for leftover pizzas) and a well-equipped bathroom along with towels. Love it – especially that it had Kate’s favourite colour adorned all over the room (check out the decor above).
Thereafter, we headed to Lake Rotoroa (aka Hamilton Lake)…
Lake Rotoroa is an excellent place for locals to hang out. Here, you can stroll by the pavements around the lake and the kids can enjoy themselves at the playground. There’s also a little botanical garden (Hamilton Lake Rose Garden) of sorts where you can get some beautiful shots as well…
We were thankful for a beautiful, sunny day this time. We also brought along some snacks (Chocolate Milk and Muffin) to sit and enjoy the views of Hamilton Lake. Thereafter, we headed to Victoria Street Hamilton Central to dine at Iguana Street Bar & Restaurant with a couple of friends. But first, views of Waikato River…

During this visit, we also found out a little more about parking in New Zealand.
Park 30 – 8am to 6pm means you can only park for 30 minutes during these times. After 6pm, it is free parking. Dinner at Iguana Street Bar and Restaurant was great. The atmosphere was casual and we had some pretty good pizzas and beers here too as well.
