On the last day of our Phu Quoc trip, we woke up early to do a morning job by the sea. Jogged up north towards the M Villas and came back…
Having worked up an appetite, it was time to have breakfast at Novotel Phu Quoc Resort…
As with 5 stars hotels, we found the variety of breakfast at Novotel Phu Quoc Resort to be pretty good. You’ll be able to find western, asian (Indian) as well as local selection here…
One of our favourites from this breakfast was definitely the smoothies. You can choose from Dragon Fruit and Mango bases – both were rather good. We also concocted our own healthy cereal bowl – complete with yoghurt, nuts, dried fruits and milk. A great way to detox after what we had over the past week in Phu Quoc 😅 If there was one thing that we had to nit-pick, it would have to be the “character” of the breakfast. It was a tad too international and could fit any Novotel, anywhere in the world – perhaps that was the idea anyway. After breakfast, we lied on the hammocks for a bit and caught some TV back in our room before we left…
During this last TV session, we caught a rather meaningful documentary on Discovery where we learnt about a cinema for the blind. There would be commentary to describe what is happening on the film – for instance for parts without conversations or to describe actions taken by the characters in the film. Definitely meaningful work for the film commentators. In fact, the show ended with one of the students from the School for the Blind, eventually becoming a movie commentator himself. So cool!
At 12pm, we left for Phu Quoc International Airport. Thankful for the suite upgrade at Novotel Phu Quoc Resort…
During our departure, we noticed interesting departure flights from Phu Quoc…
There are actually direct flights from Phu Quoc to places like Uzbekistan, Poland and Kazakhstan. This was definitely an interesting thing to note for us. Flights from these places to Phu Quoc would not be cheap – signaling a rich population that would travel far from these countries.
During the transit flight from Kuala Lumpur back to Singapore, we also managed to check out Travel Club Lounge at KLIA T2 Gate L8.
You can find the full review of Travel Club Lounge at Kuala Lumpur T2 here.

All in all, we had a fantastic time at Phu Quoc over the past week. We found the sandy beaches at Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Spa and Novotel Phu Quoc Resort to be amazing. The seafood buffet dinner along with the live Filipino band at Seashells Phu Quoc to be value-for-money. The entire island had a great holiday vibe and also touristy attractions such as Vinpearl Safari which we totally enjoyed. Phu Quoc is definitely a gem for Singaporean visitors. If you are thinking of another destination to head to, check out Phu Quoc before the prices start to increase in the future!
