The Unlimited Dining Package (UDP) allows multiple dining aboard Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas. If you’re contemplating whether to purchase the UDP and enjoy the specialty dining restaurants aboard, check out this post to find out more!
What is the Unlimited Dining Package (UDP) by Royal Caribbean Cruise?
According to Royal Caribbean Cruise’s website on Unlimited Dining Package, it states that
The Unlimited Dining Package allows guests to enjoy multiple specialty restaurants* every nights of their sailing for one low price. Guests will also be able to enjoy lunch at specialty dining restaurants on sea days.
Beverages are not included, but guests can enjoy 40% off bottles of wine under $100, and 20% off bottles over $100.
* Chefβs Table and culinary activities are excluded.
This means that you can actually try as many specialty restaurants as you like each night. Perhaps some starters at Izumi, mains at Chops and desserts at Jamie’s if you fancy! Also, you’ll be able to enjoy a 40% discount on wines under $100, which is a pretty good deal.
Is the Unlimited Dining Package more worth it on a Cruise to Nowhere?
The answer is a resounding yes. If you notice the description above, lunch is available at specialty dining restaurants on sea days. Since it’s a cruise to nowhere, it’s sea days, everyday!
Jamie’s Italian was where we had lunch, almost everyday during our cruise to nowhere aboard the Quantum of the Seas! However, to be able to dine multiple times, you’d need to book your desired time slots using the Royal App. To have as much availability, you’d have to be onboard early and use the ship’s wifi to book the slots. How to do it? Check out our cruise to nowhere pre-cruise preparations post for details!
This time, we managed to snag the Unlimited Dining Package for $134.64 SGD per person. In total, we ate 10 specialty dining meals over the 5D4N cruise. This worked out to about $15 per meal, which was not too bad. Given that we had steaks and even this double patty burger (specially ordered) at Jamie’s Italian!
The other reason why the UDP is worth it because the purchase for a meal at Wonderland already costs $70 SGD. Hence, if you’re already thinking of visiting Wonderland for its creative cuisine, UDP is probably the way to go…
Quantum of the Seas Specialty Dining Restaurants – Jamie’s Italian by Jamie Oliver
Jamie’s is probably our favourite specialty dining restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service personalised and the food, absolutely delicious. Our favourite food at Jamie’s include the Ultimate Garlic Bread (we have it at EVERY visit!), Black Truffle Arancini, Truffle Tagliatelle, Baked Lasagne, Double Patty JI Burger (specially ordered), Lamb Chops Scottadito, Lemon Meringue Cheesecake, Classic Tiramisu and the Epic Brownie!
Desserts at Jamie’s are probably the best among all the specialty dining restaurants. The Tiramisu was the best, loaded with lots of chocolate shavings! Epic Brownie was perfect and slightly chewy while Lemon Meringue Cheesecake had a fluffy meringue and was not too sweet. As for mains, you can’t go wrong with the rich and flavourful Truffle Tagliatelle. For meat lovers, go for the double patty JI burger (which we specially ordered) – remember to add extra cheese as well!
Our Famous Meat Plank was an unique dish but besides being a little Instagrammable, the choices on the plank was passable – well, perhaps except the jamon. Which reminded us of our jamon-eating spree in Spain.
Quantum of the Seas Specialty Dining Restaurants – Chops Grille
Chops Grille is our second favourite because of its lack in variety. But it more than made up in the taste department. You definitely wont go wrong with the 16oz prime bone-in ribeye. At medium, the juices are simply locked in with the outside, nicely charred. Not to mention, the portion is HUGE.
As for starters, you definitely must have the Wild Mushroom Soup. Like the Ultimate Garlic Bread, we had it at every visit here. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake was loaded with real crab meat and the Tuna Tartare is probably the best onboard. Love it! As for the sides, nothing really stood out though the Grilled Jumbo Asparagus went really well with the steaks. Also, do us a favour, give the Beef Carpaccio and Shrimp Cocktail a miss…
Quantum of the Seas Specialty Dining Restaurants – Izumi
Everyone says that the sashimi at Izumi is really bad. And that’s true. However, there’s still some great tasting (and instagrammable) sushi rolls at Izumi. We thoroughly enjoyed the Chef’s signature rolls…
All 3 Chef Signature rolls (Izumi Ryu Futomaki Roll, Baked Snow Crab and Salmon Dynamite Roll, Truffled Creamy Lobster Tempura Roll Izumi) tasted AWESOME! Just beware of the heat. They do get a little spicy. Although you can give the sashimi a miss, the poke bowl on the other hand was quite enticing. The fragrance of the sesame oil with masago and avocado, made the tuna and salmon within, so appetizing. For starters, we enjoyed the pork gyoza dumpling. Unlike the run-off-the-mill gyozas, these were actually pretty good, especially with the dash of lemon on top.
For desserts, go for anything green tea. Green tea ice, green tea mochi ice cream. You won’t go wrong with these options.
Quantum of the Seas Specialty Dining Restaurants – Wonderland
By now, you would have seen how the menu of Wonderland is revealed. Via a brush and water, just like how you paint! How cool is that! Wonderland is a creative cuisine restaurant that engages the senses. It was really fun and whimsical to dine at Wonderland. Waiters wear red suits with a coat tail. That gives you an idea of the fun you’ll be expecting.
In terms of the food, it was SO FUN! The tomato water really does taste like what it sounds. Tomato water. According to our waiter, the tomato pulp is left to stand and the water filters out and collected. No sourish taste of the pulp and skin, just sweet tasting water…
The Liquid Lobster was our other favourite. It was interesting to have bone marrow and caviar cover the lobster meat. Also, the lobster was really fresh. Yum!
Though not unique, the Shrimp Kataifi (string pasta) was really crispy…
The Buffalo Chicken Eggs has reconstructed egg yolk (with hollandaise) and served over a bird’s nest. When you lift the cover, a woody-scented smoke exudes. Remember to lift it slowly…really slow…
The Oceanic Citrus had tuna served inside a hollow-out yuzu. The tuna in turn takes the appetizing flavour of the tuna. On the top, yuzu sorbet. A very creative and well-crafted dish…
Mains on the other hand, was less interesting. We enjoyed the Bershire Pork Belly where the pork and skin was soooooo tender and braised to perfection. However, it was a little “over the top” with another serving of the fried pork rind.
As for the desserts at Wonderland, we had the Forbidden Apple as well as the Chocolate Ball. Shaped as an apple, the Forbidden Apple is actually filled with a raspberry mousse of sorts (known as CrΓ©meux). Rather tasty though it was a tad bit sweet for the outer reddish layer. Of course, there was also the Chocolate Ball, which is traditionally a highlight at Wonderland where hot chocolate is poured over a chocolate case and the magic happens when the case slowly melts away revealing the ice cream, caramel and cookie dough within. Love the creativity of this dish.
At Wonderland, they have evolved and allow visitors to try all of the interesting appetizers above. That is compared to having to choose just one of the 5 themes of (Earth, Fire, Ice, Sea, Sun). For mains, you can choose pork, chicken, beef and fish. So essentially, you can mix and match to try out what you really wish to experience at Wonderland!

Verdict of Royal Caribbean Cruise Unlimited Dining Package
Having tried the Unlimited Dining Package aboard the Quantum of the Seas during our Cruise to Nowhere, we think that it was totally worth it because
1. Great Value – Especially if you’re trying out Wonderland
As mentioned above, we had 10 meals in total, which worked out to about $15 SGD per meal. This made great sense especially if you were considering to visit Wonderland anyway. Paying $135 in total instead of $70 for just a Wonderland meal, was well worth it. If you’re wondering, you can visit Wonderland more than once though it really was quite enough for us to experience it once. The 16 oz prime bone-in ribeye and double patty JI burger? Many times please…
2. Great Taste – So much so that you may never go back to MDR…beware…
At the end of our cruise to nowhere onboard Quantum of the Seas, we headed to Main Dining Room and we realised that getting the UDP is like opening Pandora’s Box, there’s no going back…
Take a look at the tartare, the one from Chops Grille was amazing while the one from MDR was half-baked. Comparing the steaks…well…there’s no comparison at all. How about the tiramisu…
There was simply no comparison here. Once you bite into Jamie’s tiramisu, there’s no turning back. In short, specialty dining trumps MDR, hands down.
3. Specialty Dining opens for lunch on sea days – Meaning all, days for cruise to nowhere!
Since we sailed onboard Quantum of the Seas for the cruise to nowhere, we were able to enjoy lunch at a Specialty Dining Restaurant everyday! Again, this makes the Unlimited Dining Package so worthwhile.
Do note that all the Specialty Dining Restaurants are located at Deck 5 of Quantum of the Seas. Check out this video to learn more…

Hi, may I know how many days before the sailing were you able to book the UDP? My sailing is on 6 May and I still have not seen it on my cruise planner yet. I have been monitoring my cruise planner ritually for almost a month. Thank you.
Hi Zhi Jun,
UDP is a great choice! We thoroughly enjoyed the various specialty restaurants aboard!
We actually booked it about 2 months out. RCC will send mailers to inform you of discounts such as 40% off for beverages and 50% off for UDP. There’s a possibility that the UDP is fully booked for your departure. Alternatively, call in to RCC and book through the agent. They’re quite helpful just that the wait sometimes may take a while.
Remember to check the prices (inclusive of gratuities) before you book! You can refer to the prices we booked at, in this post as a reference.
Enjoy the cruise to nowhere! Really hope you can book the Unlimited Dining Package!

Hi Tom & Kate,
Thank you for the reply. I will give them a call. π
Best regards,
Zhi Jun
Same position as you, were you able to get it in the end?
Nope didnt get it
so literally we dont have to pay again at the special dining restaurant right ? like chops grille, jamie oliver etc.which are listed on the term& condition ? or we have to pay again for some menu on those restaurants ?
Hi Eric,
With the UDP, you don’t have to pay at the restaurant again. However, there will be some restrictions at the various restaurants. For instance, during our visit, we were only able to order 1 ribeye while we were able to order unlimited portions for appetizers and desserts. At Wonderland, we were able to get seconds based on availability. No issues with seconds or more at Jamie’s and Izumi. With the UDP, you can literally restaurant-hop (by booking early via the app) and have appetizers at Izumi, mains at Chops and desserts at Jamie’s. Also, it would be best to check in with the waiting staff who will let you know about any UDP restrictions, such as that at Chops.
Enjoy the cruise ahead Eric!

Hi, do we book the dining time Everyday or itβs fixed at (5.30pm or 8.30pm ) once we choose from the unlimited dining package ? Is the specialty restaurant menu the same on lunch and dinner ?
Hi Catherine,
The dining time is based on availability (not fixed at 5:30pm or 8:30pm). Priority goes to those who booked for specific restaurants (i.e. 1 restaurant) and they will get to choose the time slot first. Then, the suite guests, by virtue of having a butler prior to boarding, will choose next. Lastly, it will be those who board and use the wifi to book. This is also why, we chose the earliest boarding time at 2pm to ensure that we get the timeslots that we want.
As for the menu at Specialty Dining Restaurant, they are the same at lunch and dinner.
Hope this helps!

hello! May i ask, with the purchase of the UDP, with multiple visits to restaurants. can we order multiple meals for that dining session, or is it just one meal? thanks!!!
Hi Jeremy,
For Jamie’s you can order multiple mains and have as many burgers, pasta as you wish. For Izumi and Wonderland, they usually go by the restrictions (refer to the post) – though the waiters at these 2 restaurants say that if you’re still hungry, they can make arrangements for more. However, for Chops Grille, for the premium cuts like 16oz Prime Bone-In Ribeye, you can only order once.
But since you can visit multiple restaurants, if you really wish to, you can make 2 reservations for Chops for instance, in one evening. You’ll probably be really really really full though. π Enjoy!

How do you achieved 10 meals in 4 nights? The cost of the unlimited dining package is now $174 π
Hi Kai,
This is only possible for cruise to nowhere. During cruises to nowhere, specialty dining restaurants are opened for lunch as well. So if you attempt to dine at 2 (or 3) venues per meal, you can technically do more meals than that. The main thing is to complete the bookings as soon as you board to get the desired time slots.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the in depth sharing. I’d have to disagree on giving beef carpaccio (to each its own i guess) a miss but other than that, pretty informative.I tried wonderland before the pandemic and the food looked better than it tasted. I was rather disappointed at the taste of it compared to the other specialty dining. Might have to give it a 2nd chance since it has been too long.
Izumi used to have the concept of credits where each diner gets a $35 credit to order whatever they want ( not restricted to small or big plates) and they used to offer wagyu nigiri and abercore sashimi which was delicious (I loved going to izumi just for a few nigiris and sashimi before heading to my next venue). Sad to see it being removed. I’m aware thst Izumi has some scathing reviews but some of the dishes were pretty decent (like tuna tataki, futomaki roll). Also, Izumi offers some of the nicest cocktail on board, she’s a geisha and japanese strawberry were my absolute favourite cocktails (avoid the spicy okinawa) so if you have drinks package, do look out for these drinks.
Wow! Thanks for the comments and comprehensive review JACF! Will definitely check out the cocktails at the specialty restaurants during our next cruise. Thanks for the tip!
