Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa was where we stayed at during our 6 days visit to Phu Quoc. There are several reasons why we chose to stay at Seashells Phu Quoc. Firstly, unlike Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc where we stayed previously, Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa is located in Duong Dong town, allowing us to walk around and visit the restaurants, breweries and shopping in the vicinity. Secondly, at 2.3M VND (or $125 SGD), we were able to snag Premium Ocean View King Bed along with free foot massasges – not too bad a deal at all. Lastly, we saw that the sunsets seen from Seashells Phu Quoc were simply unforgettable. This we’ve got to check out for ourselves…

About Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa Review
As you can see from the photo above, Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa is actually shaped to be like a cruise ship! From the curvature of the hotel, you can see that it actually does represent the silhouette of a passenger cruise ship! There are a total of 252 ocean and city view rooms and if you, choose a ocean view room like us, you can experience how a balcony room feels like onboard a cruise ship. As the smaller boats move past the hotel in the distance, it does feel as though the hotel is a like a ship that is stationary out in the open seas…
We arrived at the hotel at about 1:30pm in the afternoon, slightly earlier than the check-in timing at 3pm. From the hotel’s lobby, the rays of the sun were already peering in…
The check in process was smooth and soon we were able to check out our Premium Ocean View King Bed room…

Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa Premium Ocean View King Bed Review
As with our last hotel at Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc, the hotel is very well-maintained. We found the room to be clean and spacious – though there were some ant-looking crawly insects that came in from the balcony. Harmless ones really. Otherwise, we really love the room with its rainshowers, baths salts next to the bath tub as well as the amazing views of the ocean…
As we’ve mentioned earlier, if you just sit on the bed and stare into the horizon, it really does feel as though you’re in a balcony-class room onboard a cruise ship – just that this room is alot bigger than the conventional balcony room. The views are expansive and we also had views of the swimming pool, allowing us to also enjoy live music performance from a resident Filipino band that performs from 5:30pm onwards, when the sun is about to set. After checking out our room, we headed out to Serenity Spa – the resident spa of Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa to make the booking for our foot spa…
Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa Facilities – Serenity Spa, Gym and Coral Restaurant
Serenity Spa is actually located at the basement of the hotel – not usually where you’d find a spa. Nonetheless, it does have all the usual offerings of a spa. As guests, you’ll also have complimentary 20 minutes access to the hotel’s sauna and steam bath from 10am to 4pm daily. Unfortunately, we did not have the time to visit as we were mostly out the entire day. If you have had the opportunity to visit the steam bath and sauna of Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa, do let us know more in the comments section below.
While making our booking, we found that it was already full till 7pm this evening and we would be at dinner by then. Hence, we decided to make bookings the next day at 8:30pm. As we had 4 foot massage tickets, allowing us to have 4 sessions of 30 minutes foot massage, we also had the option to combine them into either 50 minutes of foot massage or 30 minutes of head and shoulder massage – which we agreed for our session the next day. Next door, we also found the gym of Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel and Spa…
Also located in basement of Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel and Spa, the gym was empty when we visited. Nonetheless, it was relatively well-equipped with treadmills, gym machines and free weights. There’s also a TV as well as a water-cooler within. Then, it was finally time for us to check out the swimming pool of Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa!
To kick off our stay at Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa, we also ordered a Pina Colada cocktail for 160k VND (~$9 SGD)…
One complain that we often see from the reviews of Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa is that there are insufficient deck chairs around the swimming pool…
We found it to be relatively true. This is because of the intensity of the sun, the deck chairs out in the sun would be too hot to sit on. As for the deck chairs shaded from the sun, almost all had been taken by the time we arrived. Eventually, a couple left and we were able to have a seat shared between the both of us. Hence, the limited seats by the pool is quite true indeed. As the sun set, the golden rays also started to form on the ocean front…
As night approached, it was time for our seafood buffet dinner at Coral Restaurant of Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa…

Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa Coral Restaurant Seafood Buffet Dinner
We’ve actually covered our seafood buffet dinner at Coral Restaurant of Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa this evening but we’ll cover some of the best parts of the dining experience…
This time, we sat inside the restaurant to enjoy the air-conditioning and also at the same time, avoid the onslaught of the mosquitoes this evening. Even when seated within, we could still feel a couple of them. So try to sit inside if you can…
Outside by the pool is where all the food are laid out this evening. You’ll be able to find sushi, salads, fruits, roasted meats, cooked foods (such as oysters, fish, rice and noodles) as well as the vast selection of seafood for live BBQ by chefs on-the-spot!
According to the seafood buffet dinner menu of Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa, there are loads of seafood to choose from – such as oysters, mussels, scallops, tiger prawns (our absolute favourite) and whole fish…
Here were some of the food we had at the seafood buffet dinner at Coral Restaurant Seashells Phu Quoc this evening…
There was even the live Filipino Band that continued to serenade us throughout the evening. Really talented group with renditions of both old and new songs, harmonising beautifully in many of them and they even take song dedications – to the delight of some of the diners this evening…
At 590k VND per person (or ~$32 SGD), the seafood buffet dinner at Seashells Phu Quoc is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the vicinity! After dinner, we also took in some views of the hotel at night…

Breakfast at Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa Coral Restaurant
The breakfast buffet spread at Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa is very extensive. Here’s an idea of what you’d be expecting…
Although in the taste department, the breakfast at Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa pales in comparison to that at Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc, we still felt it check most of the boxes. For instance, you’ll be able to find some choices for the kids such as doughnuts and cereals, salads for the health conscious and also selection for locals and Koreans. What we loved was the selection of cheese and breads which we could put together to concoct our own sandwiches. In terms of the Vietnamese food selection, it was definitely not as good as Vinpearl Resort & Spa. For instance the beef pho tasted of instant mix that is used in instant noodles – unlike the natural sweetness when the bones and meats are simmered over many hours. Nonetheless, a very decent selection that would keep you energised for the day.
The other “ritual” that we built was that after we had our breakfast, we would bring out a cup of Vietnamese coffee each and sit by the waters. There, we would be able to see the staff set up the paragliding and jet-skis for adventurous guests of the hotel and also hear the waves gently caressing the shores of the hotel. By the way, the rates for paragliding was 750k VND for 1 person and 1.2M VND for 2 people (for about a 5 mins ride).

Check out this video review of our stay at Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa!
All in all, we had an excellent time at Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa. The Premium Ocean View Room was probably one of the best rooms that one could have due to its proximity next to the waters. You could see endless views of the ocean right out to the horizon. The swimming pool was also Kate’s favourite because of the beautiful tile that has been used, also that the material ensures that the water in the swimming pool is always a nice balmy temperature. The seafood buffet dinner was value-for-money and the Filipino Live Band definitely perked up the entire atmosphere altogether. Although the sand of the beach next to Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa is not as fine as that as Vinpearl, the amazing infinity pool more than made up for the beach front experience with many instagrammable shots by the pool during sunset. If you’re looking for a luxe, yet affordable beach front holiday, Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa might just be the perfect getaway for you and your family!
