According to Todayonline, the Singapore passport was named the 2nd most powerful passport in the world. The article said that Japan had overtaken Singapore to become the most powerful passport in the world. At the time of writing, we also referred to the Global Passport Power Rank at Passportindex.org, we found that Singapore’s passport still retained its second spot (with access to 166 countries – 127 Visa-free, 39 Visa on arrival, 32 Visa required) but United Arab Emirates (UAE) took the top spot with access to 167 countries. Nonetheless, Singapore still retained the top spot for visa-free countries – this speaks volume about the hard work that our diplomats put in to put this tiny red dot on the map. Kudos!

Singaporeans on the other hand can enjoy the hard work of our diplomats by visiting 127 countries without the need to apply a visa. That’s really cool! But what we’re interested in this post is how many of these 127 countries have visa-free entry for Singaporeans for up to 90 days? This essentially allows Singaporeans to really tour and experience a country. Ready to find out more? Here we go!

1. Australia

The Australian Department of Home Affairs provides that Singapore citizens visiting for short-term tourism or business may apply online for the Electronic Travel Authority (visa subclass 601) before their travels. The ETA, if granted, will be valid for one year and will allow Singapore citizens to visit multiple times for up to 90 days per visit. Singapore citizens may also apply for a Long Validity Visitor visa (visa subclass 600) at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in Singapore. Applicants must provide their personal biometric identifiers when they apply for the visa. The visa, if granted, will be valid for six years and will allow Singapore citizens to visit multiple times for up to 90 days per visit.

Australia sits right on top of our list as one of the countries that Singaporeans can visit visa-free for up to 90 days. Actually, you will still need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authority. But with popular tourist destinations such as Perth, Brisbane and Sydney, Singaporeans won’t feel too much of a hassle to apply for this visa online.

Any minor travelling with one parent or without his/her parents into South Africa needs to bring along certain documentation for entry into South Africa.
