Skiver Sky Bar was where we visited during our staycation at Studio M Hotel. During COVID-19, Skiver Sky Bar had mostly remained closed and it was timely that it re-opened in time for NDP this year. This time, we dropped by Skiver Sky Bar during one of the preview sessions and were able to enjoy NDP proceedings right here!
About Skiver Sky Bar
Skiver Sky Bar is located at level 16 of Seacare Hotel (52 Chin Swee Rd, Level 16, Singapore 169875) and serves up Thai pub food along with a selection of beers and cocktails. Here’s the menu of Skiver Sky Bar
At the onset, the food may seem a little pricey. However, considering the views that you’d be able to enjoy from Skiver Sky Bar, it is actually rather reasonably priced. This time, we enjoyed a pint of draft Budweiser ($13), Guinness Draught ($13), Beach Bomb cocktail ($20), Deep Fried Chicken Tendon ($12) and Grilled Pork Collar ($18).
What We Had at Skiver Sky Bar
Both bar snacks were rather good. Portion wise, it was value-for-money as well. We started with the Deep Fried Chicken Tendon ($12) which is really just fried unwanted bits from the chicken but was soooo good. Crunchy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Whoever thought of this combination has probably struck gold in bar food “upcycle”. 😅 Grilled Pork Collar ($18) didn’t have the gamey pork taste and tasted really good with the peppery Thai sauce, dosed in shallots. Yum!
Drinks wise, they were not that cheap. But if you go for the draft Budweiser tower, it could still be rather worthwhile. On the other hand, the cocktails should be missed. This is because, we wanted to ask what were the ingredients of the various cocktails such as Beach Bomb and I’m in LUV, we literally heard the answer – “it’s like a gimmick and we can’t really tell you the ingredients used“. With that, you know that it’s probably not that great. Although Beach Bomb as a cocktail looked good, it didn’t taste good – especially not at $20.
Views from Skiver Sky Bar
The views from Skiver Sky Bar is pretty good. Although it is not anything like Pan Pacific or Mandarin Oriental, it still allows you to see views of the city as well as the fly-past during National Day…
The cool part was that the national flag actually flew directly overhead of Skiver Sky Bar! That was really really cool. We were also able to see fireworks from Skiver Sky Bar. At night, Skiver Sky Bar comes to life with great views over the night lights by the Singapore River…

We’ve actually found a great venue to hang out – a venue to chill, unwind and enjoy views from atop at a fairly reasonable price. If we were to visit again, we’d visit at the same time (~6pm) and have a tower with some of the bar food. A great evening will then ensue.
