Thanks for joining us on our South Korea Travel Itinerary. On day 7 of our South Korea travels, we are at Busan – Hilton Busan Hotel to be specific. Thanks to the great folks at Hilton Busan, we were invited to an exclusive stay at this ultra posh hotel in Busan. To give you an illustration, our room had an in-room bath tub, complete with views of the morning sunrise!

After a luxurious bath, the pampering continued with breakfast at the executive lounge of Hilton Busan, complete with eggs benedict and gourmet coffee
After a hearty breakfast, we decided to go for a stroll by the waters. If you walk along the coastal walk at Hilton Busan, you’ll be able to reach East @ Busan (a restaurant mall) as well as rows of blue houses by the ocean, which reminds us of Santorini in Greece.
Soon, it was time to check out. As we carried our luggage towards our car, we noticed something amiss. The car would not unlock and did not respond to the transponder! :O Hence, we immediately approached the reception of Hilton Busan and James as well as Irene were able to help us through the entire ordeal. Although we were not thrilled to have our battery go flat during our holidays, we were glad that it happened at Hilton Busan. For more details of this mini adventure, check out our post on Hilton Busan – Probably the Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World!
Before we left the hotel, we were treated to a feast at Da Moim Buffet Restaurant – the in-house restaurant of Hilton Busan…
The restaurant itself was posh and there was an eye-popping variety of food to choose from. We particularly enjoyed the meats, sushi as well as the live octopus! Find out all the details of our review at Hilton Busan’s Da Moim Buffet Restaurant here.
Busan Travel Itinerary – Hauendae Beach Busan
The car battery was soon recharged and we were well on our way to our next destination – Hauendae Beach in Busan! This time, we stayed at the Haeundae Marianne Hotel due to its close proximity to Haeundae Beach…
After watching a couple of rounds of 3 ball billiards in the room and marvelled at the amazing techniques of the players (HOW COULD THEY MAKE THOSE SHOTS!?), we left for Hauendae Beach, just minutes away from Haeundae Marianne Hotel…

Busan Travel Itinerary – Dalmaji Road & Dalmaji Hill Busan
One of the other major attraction at Haeundae Beach is Dalmaji Hill. During spring time, you’ll be able to enjoy the rows of cherry blossom that bloom, with views over the ocean. Although we just missed the cherry blossom blooming season, we got to enjoy marvellous views from Dalmaji Hill. But first, we had to locate the way up the hill. So first, face the ocean and head left, all the way to the end and you’ll reach rows of restaurants that line the ocean. Once you reach there, look out for a slope up a car park (there are 2 of these) that leads you to the rail way track…
Here, we saw throngs of people walking in the same general direction and we followed suit. Soon, we came to another scenic location – the railway tunnel. Teenagers were taking photos at the entrance to the tunnel while 2 couples were taking photos inside the tunnel. Definitely a great photo spot at Haeundae Busan.
Now, the tricky part here is that you DO NOT continue walking in the same general direction because it leads to nowhere. Trust us, we’ve walked there and back. So, head back and look for another “secret” entrance to a huge staircase that leads to the Dalmaji Hill…
Yes, look out for the HUGE staircase with rusted railings. That is the way up to Dalmaji Hill. And the view? Amazing…
After coming down from Dalmaji Road, in the general direction towards Hauendae Marianne Hotel, we stumbled upon a walking street lined with seafood restaurants. More live skinning of eels ensued, which reminded us of the scenes at Jagalchi Fish Market.
To round off the evening, we had the typical South Korean chicken and beer combination (also known as 鸡啤) at Tang Tang Chicken Beer Restaurant.
This time, we had the herb boneless chicken and spicy sweet chicken combination at 21,000krw as well as a beer 4,500krw and a coke 2,000krw…

As we were not able to finish such a large portion, we packed the rest for the evening while watching korean variety shows with a sweet potato makgeolli (and masks at a total of 5,500krw to pamper ourselves) :P. Even then, the fried chicken remained crispy, attesting to the high quality fried chicken that you can get in South Korea.
Stay tuned for our next post on day 8 of our South Korea Travel Itinerary as we drive north from Busan to Gyeongju – capital of the 1000 year long Silla dynasty.
