Stone & Wood Brewery is located in a suburb known as Fortitude Valley in Brisbane, Australia. Built with a vision to support the community, Stone & Wood Brewery started out as a conscious business to be the “village brewery”, not only to supply beers to the community but also supporting it. Hence, they partner with suppliers who are part of the sustainable movement and also local partners such as William Wallace Group that work wonders in their kitchen. In the March 2022 floods in Brisbane, Stone & Wood Brewery staff not only helped as volunteers in the relief efforts, they also donated to help the community. An excellent local brewery that supports the community…

Inside Stone & Wood Brewery Brisbane

The interior of Stone & Wood Brewery Brisbane exudes a casual vibe. There’s no air-conditioning but it was still quite cool when we visited with the fans circulating. Once inside, you can see bar, dining areas and the kitchen by the side. To order, you can head over to the bar – food can be ordered here as well.

While browsing through the Stone & Wood Brewery Brisbane Food Menu, we also found out from the staff that they had a party the night before (Friday night). This was also why he missed out one of the orders, which he immediately rectified.
What We Had at Stone & Wood Brewery Brisbane

This time we ordered the
– Hazy Pale Ale ($13)
– Big Pale Ale ($13)
– Pork Schnitzel ($26)
The total came up to $52, so all taxes were already included in the price on the menu.
We must say that we loved everything at Stone & Wood Brewery. This is usually not the case. Sometimes the beers are good while the food not so much. But this time at Stone & Wood Brewery Brisbane, we totally enjoyed the Hazy Pale Ale ($13 – pint) which had the woody aroma with light hoppy and tropical juicy tastes – the type of hazy pale ale that we love. Of course our favourite Hazy Pale Ale has got to be the Cornerstone Tap Room Haze of Glory IPA in Taupo – unforgettable. The Big Pale Ale ($13 – pint) was gassier but had a more robust hoppy taste to it. Both ales were excellent!
As for the food, we had the Pork Schnitzel ($26). The rendition of Pork Schnitzel at Stone & Wood Brewery was probably one of the best we’ve had, including the ones we’ve had in Germany. There are 2 reasons, we think, are the secret to this dish. Firstly, the pork was very well marinated. You could taste that there was some work into preparing the taste and tenderness of the meat prior. Secondly, the bread crumb coating was delicious. Together, it had a sweetness and smokiness to it. The light buttery mushroom sauce topped off this dish. On the sides, we also love the salad. There was some spring onions which added the extra crunch and was accompanied by an enticing light vinegar fragrance. Everything came together pretty well we must say.

Overall, we had a great time at Stone & Wood Brewery Brisbane, Fortitude Valley. The beers had the rich hoppy flavours and juicy taste – particularly for the hazy pale ale. The food on the other hand was spectacular as well. The pork schnitzel was probably one of the best we’ve tasted. The casual and relaxing vibe also made us really comfortable. Dining at Stone & Wood Brewery also supports the local community. Great meal overall!
