Things to do and Attractions in Paso Robles California
Wine Tasting at Paso Robles
Peachy Canyon Winery was one of our stops for wine tasting in Paso Robles. Wine tasting here was fairly affordable at $10 per pax for 6 wine tastings. The wine tasting fee is also waived if you buy 2 bottles of wine which was as low as $19 dollars per bottle. While you’re here, check out the many wineries available at Paso Robles!
Paso Robles Pioneer Museum
The Paso Robles Pioneer Museum provides free admission to all visitors. However, do not think that free admission equates to a lower standard. In fact, the Paso Robles Pioneer Museum is a very interesting museum that keeps many artifacts from 1800 to 1900s. Our guide, Wayne Harris told us a story about how the word “dashboard” came about from a horse carriage and he also introduced us to many interesting pieces such as the butter machine, old Ford cars and communication devices.
Check out the photo about how the prisoner dug out of his cell into the next cell in the city jail!
What to eat in Paso Robles?
Pappy McGregor’s Paso Robles
For our first dinner, we enjoyed a sumptuous meal at Pappy McGregor’s Paso Robles. We had mojito and Firestone Walker Brewery’s DBA (Double Barrel Ale) for drinks and ordered the Steak and Shrooms ($16) as well as Pork Belly BLTA ($13) for mains. Surprisingly, the Steak and Shrooms captivated our taste buds. The cheesy mix of mushroom and steak gravy complemented the toasty bread really well. If you only had one choice, go for the Steak and Shrooms – good for 2 to share!
Cow Girl Cafe Paso Robles
Cowgirl Cafe in is one of the most popular food joint in Paso Robles. Perhaps due to the decorations within as well as the pancakes. However, give the chicken steak and eggs a miss. A little too salty and small in portion.
