The hill station of Munnar has always been a welcomed retreat for city dwellers from Kochi and the surrounding cities. In this post, we’ll cover the top 4 Things to do and attractions in Munnar for you to consider for your next trip there…
Munnar Attractions #1: Eravikulam National Park
All visitors to Munnar would include Eravikulam National Park in their itinerary. The tea plantation and mountain views give visitors a relaxed vibe. Moreover, if you’re on the right end of the 18 year cycle, you’ll be able to witness the Neelakurinji flowers in full bloom.
Munnar Attractions #2: The Leaf Munnar Hotel
There are many great hotels in the hill station of Munnar. This time, we visited the Leaf Munnar Hotel and were pleasantly surprised by its location and serenity. If you head to the swimming pool, the beautiful valley views await. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to indulge in the buffet spread during dinner. Otherwise, if it’s the off-peak season, ala carte buffet would be held in place of the buffet dinner. This time, we had the signature tandoori platter and were enticed by the platting as well as the indulgent taste of the meats and spices. A perfect meal to a relaxing part of the trip.
Munnar Attractions #3: Munnar Spice Gardens
At the Munnar Spice Gardens, we were introduced to all the various Ayurvedic treatments available from the herbs and spices from the Spice Gardens. Whatever ailment you have, there would be a treatment for it – well, at least according to the staff there. Because of their excellent (and sometimes vivid) description of the healing effects of the herbs within the gardens, we bought a couple of massage lotion and hair conditioners.
Munnar Attractions #4: Munnar Waterfalls
There are also several beautiful waterfalls in Munnar. This time, we passed by Valara and Cheeyeappara Waterfalls.
